I'm not an expert about that world but isn't it less about volume and more about exclusitivity?

Ye isnt trying to be an ECKO, Sean John ect. ie Brands that came and went. He is trying to be a Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford type. A Versace or Armani kind of brand.

Those guys started out at major fashion houses before doing coming out with their own brands. And those brands will be popular for at least the next hundred years.

I'm sure there are others who bypassed high fashion houses, especially Americans. Kanye is at a disadvantage not being French/Italian, not being black

But he is at an advantage in being a multi millionaire. He can hire the best designers and factories to make his shyt out of pocket. If he really believed in his shyt he would, but he doesn't, he needs a white fashion entity to validate him

Ibthought that was ye proving a point that his name is strong enough to gather unwavering support whether its commercially accept ("graduation" shutter shades) or polarizing (200 dollar t e e shirts, yeezy 2's, louis vutton collabs)
