He's asking for more pay from the podcast and the only way that could happen is if they reduce the pay of his fellow co-hosts. And he's like whatever needs to be done to make it happen, make it happen. And he thinks Flip should be the one to take that loss.

As people have said, Marc doesn't need to be there. He has enough intelligence and experience that broadens the scope of opportunities he has available to him to generate income compared to Flip, whom I feel like he looks down on. Let Flip get it how he get it from this podcast instead of trying to play a zero sum game with another black man in a space he's doesn't need to be in.

He's essentially like a gentrifier who moves into the hood and starts complaining about his neighbor who fixes cars in his driveway for a living. killer is, the gentrifier just built a big ass mechanic shop down the street. So behind the complaint is really a play to swipe his customers.

Bullshyt, they both work at the same place I'm sure Marc has the metrics to prove his value and demand more pay, if Flip has an issue then he should contribute more and outwork the guy that arrived AFTER him. Flip gets looked down on it's because he has positioned himself as the class clown, if he wants respect he should respect himself first.

If you work for a company and ask for a raise, that doesnt mean you want someone fired/take a paycut. That means you willing to put in more hours and take on more responsibility. That could mean Marc is on more pod episodes or patreons. Doing more shyt like the Marc and Ian show.

Yep, Skip was a horrible example. He cant even manage to get his own youtube channel/show popping. That Gridiron show is Gil's shyt. Skip is on there because Underdog is paying him in hope that show gets picked up by Amazon/Netflix. So even the youtube channel ppl are trying to angle in getting the show off youtube only.

Yea, if we go by what openai says, a YT video with 1-million views centered on NBA-content would generate between $4k-$12k, and for NFL content between $3k to $8k. Tho of course other types of advertisements and sponsors can blow that number up, some say as much as $30k per 1-million views.

From what Gil was saying, Gil's Arena was averaging about 1.1 million or so total views a week, and said Gridiron averages about 400k views a week. So even if you go with the high end estimates, that's great for a 1-man show but not if you're splitting it 4-ways + a full production team and budget. It's no wonder you see the Double Toasted guys and now Jeff Teague's 520 crew doing road shows and spamming merchandise. Or always emphasizing the "super chat", etc

Ultimately getting picked up by an Amazon, Netflix, HBO, ESPN, etc., is the more lucrative/stable play for these mutli-cast shows.

He's not, but I'm glad you brought this up, because my girl watches those types of dumb Housewives shows. The difference is, Joe is a former rapper and they bring guests on, Flip knows people and some of them have genuine relationships and context into the industry. They now even have Marc Lamont Hill who gave context to who Assata Shakur was and her movement.

Housewives are just bytches who are living off someone else's fame and money. The podcast is equivalent to like Barbershop talk. For example they were talking about the Movie "Weapons" I never heard of it or saw it on social media but I checked it out. And they used to have good sleepers so you can be put on or hear new popping music.
