They are about to make a decision that involves upwards to 100 million $$$

They need all the evaluation they can get. Its not that hard to understand breh.

They made this decision weeks ago anyways, Jay is the starting QB when healthy for this team.

He's clearly not worth $100 mil or anywhere close to it. What are these last 3 games gonna tell you that the last 5 years including 8 games in Trestman's system this season haven't told you? It would be one thing if McCown just came in and held down the fort but this guy has clearly outplayed Cutler. The decision should already be made, if the FO has any sense. No way should a journeyman QB who was coaching HS last year :dead: come in and soundly outplay the guy you are gonna give $100 mil to.

I can make it easy for them, Jay Cutler isn't a 100 million dollar QB. It's a shame y'all are gonna screw up a playoff run figuring that out.

Sorry I'm not trying to be a dikk or anything, but you guys are being very simple minded to think this is a decision that just boils down to who has been playing better.

The decision to stick with Jay was made weeks ago, they arent going to go back on it now. Doesnt even need to be a discussion.

Simple minded is making a decision weeks ago and then sticking with it no matter how strong the new evidence to the contrary is. This offense is humming in a way we never saw it do with Cutler and they have a chance a division title and maybe an improbable playoff run and the people saying "you probably shouldn't disrupt that by changing the most impactful player" are the ones thinking erroneously? :usure:

I'm a Lions fan living in the Chicagoland area and I've come to this conclusion. As a Lions fan, I want them to pick Cutler as I don't view him as a franchise QB. He doesn't take advantage of his physical gifts, in fact, he abuses them at times like trying to fit the ball into windows they have no business being thrown in. McCown doesn't have the arm strength but he's been displaying things like the audible ability, looking off CBs in the secondary. These are things that Cutler hasn't done with regularity. Taking from another sport, Eric Gagne threw 100mph fastballs on the regular and that worked against most during his Cy Young season, but once in a while, you'd meet a person like Barry Bonds, who had the physical gifts, talent and discipline to knock the fukk out of a ball as Eric learned during their classic matchup. Look at Greg Maddux, he wasn't going to overpower people, he got where he was by ball placement. That isn't physical ability, that is talent. Front Offices continue to choose physical ability over apparent talent because physical ability can't be taught outside of a hypodermic needle. Cutler isn't disciplined.

In this case, the mold of QB that they need is in the mold of McCown at this point in time for their offense as it has been the intangibles of Josh that have exceeded that of Jay's by far.

this is :mindblown:. its obvious McCown was playing his heart out and he wants to start despite what he says to the media (smart man :myman:)

The coach is an idiot for thinking Jay Cutler is going to suddenly shine, he had half a season to do so and was mediocre. Chicago residents should riot if they sit the guy on a hot streak. they already have to deal with Mr. Glass DRose and their tanking ass bulls, they shouldn't have to suffer with Cutler literally throwing the rest of their season in the bushes.

The offense was always expected to get better as the team learned the schemes and got more practice under it.

Two of Cutlers best starts came in two of his last couple starts. Cutler also faced tougher defenses.

Josh has been great, but he is a stopgap at 34. Its whatever, but this franchise has alot invested in Cutler, and I could see why they want to see him finish off the season.

Cutler is a guy you are considering giving $100 mil to. McCown was coaching HS last year. There are no excuses or pleas to cop here. Josh at 34 is only 4 years old than Cutler. I am not saying that they should make McCown the guy for the long haul. However for a guy of his caliber to just slide in and beast like this has to call in to question whether or not Cutler is worth that kinda money. The focus now should be trying to get as far as possible this season, not trying to see what a guy who you've had for 5 years has to offer. Once again what is 3 games gonna tell you that 5 years hasn't? This is the NFL a improbable run with McCown is indeed possible. For Cutler to come in and magically transform into and elite QB at 30 isn't so possible.

WHY PPL ACTING LIKE MCCOWN IS 6-0?
DUKE BEAT A BACK UP QB IN SENACA WALLACE...
LOST TO 2 BACK UP QBS @ STL & MINNY
BEAT THE WORST D IN THE L IN DALLAS IN 0 DEGREE WEATHER.
(I SAW THAT COMING A MILE AWAY)
AND SCRAPED BY BALTIMORE AFTER THE GAME WAS HALTED FOR HOURS...
3-2 RECORD AGAINST SUSPECT COMPETITION IS NO REASON TO TALK ABOUT BENCHING YOUR FRANCHISE QB.

What exactly has Cutler done to be referenced as a franchise QB? The Bears, on the strength of that D made it to a SB with Rex fukkin Grossman. Cutler has done nothing special statistically or from a winning standpoint in a Bears uniform. McCown and that offense are red hot right now. What has Culter done to warrant disrupting that?

I hate that prisoner mentality though. At some point in time, you have to say that you tried, but it just didn't work out. I know why they want to do it, but I don't agree with the logic behind it. Front Offices do dumb shyt all the time, it's why San Diego lets go of Drew Brees and Russell Wilson fall to the third round, because of height. I watched Drew destroy teams at Purdue and Russell beast at his year at Wisconsin but because they aren't tall, they got discounted. People overlook talent and the will to win all the time. I like Jay, his I don't give a fukk attitude, I just don't like his play. When even Chicago radio knows he's good for a few interceptions a game, that is problematic. Cutler isn't the future, nor is McCown but I believe McCown is a better stopgap till they get that franchise QB.

LOL he gave up 42 points to the Rams? And when you compare the stats from both Vikings games, he threw for more yards, one less TD, and two less ints than Cutler did. Your kicker could have won that game for you but he didn't.

Yalls "franchise" QB that you still somehow need to evalute, has averaged only 5 more TD's a year than INT's in his Bears career. That doesn't sound like a franchise QB to me.

CUTLER HAS BEEN TO THE NFC TITLE GAME WITH NO RECIEVERS & OLINE...
WHEN THE HE GOT HURT THE FOLLOWING SEASON THE TEAM WAS 7-3.
HE NEVER RETURNED AND THE TEAM FINISHED AT 8-8.
(THIS HAS NOT BEEN THE D THAT WENT TO THE SB WITH REX)
NOW WE FINALLY GOT A DECENT BACKUP WHO CAN HOLD THE FORT DOWN WHILE HE'S OUT
AND nikkaS TALKING ABOUT BENCHING HIM?
DUKE HAS GONE 3-2 AGAINST SCRUBS...
THIS ISNT SOME IMPROBABLE RUN.
CUTLER HAS HAD NO WEAPONS NO OLINE AND LIKE 4 DIFFERENT O COORDINATORS SINCE HE'S BEEN HERE
AND STILL HAS A 38-26 RECORD OVER THAT SPAN...
SOME BACK UP GOING 3-2 WITH A NICE OFFENSE SHOULDNT CHANGE shyt.
:comeon: Nobody's talking bout benching him next year, just for the rest of this season breh. let that nikka heal to 100% and bring him back next year if you wanna.
Or you can do like they're gonna do and ignore the fact mccown has thrown 300+ yds in the last 3 games and only has 1 int period. it doesn't matter that he's 3-2, it obviously wasn't on him that they lost those games, he wasn't making mistakes. its a team game breh, you not gonna win if the defense isn't on, you can't expect a qb to go out and throw 500 yds every single game. you can't knock mccown's performances, regardless of who they're against.
