Some artists be trying to legit rape the artists who sample them. Tracy Chapman was notorious for that shyt especially when it came to black artists. Most of the time she didn't even clear the sample. But it was cool for her to let Luke Combs flip her whole shyt tho. Nice n Smooth made like 0 money off Sometimes I Rhyme Slow.

So this new sh*t where people are trying to call out samples and highlight where dudes got sh*t from has a lot of producers shook to sample or not get things cleared. There's too much snitching going on right now.

I agree..As a producer its your job not to get caught though, there's too much music available to us as the click of a button for this to be an issue

I do wonder how much this may change going forward, with the prospect of AI apps quickly being able to determine samples. Usually independent artists are not sued for samples since they aren't selling a lot of records, but I can certainly imagine a future where that changes.
