Imagine if he had weapons to throw to or a running game to keep defenses modest. Clayton, Duper, Fryar, and McDuffie were good receivers but don't exactly strike fear into any defenses heart. Could you imagine the numbers he would put up if he played in this pass happy era.
You crazy.

Mark Clayton was NICEEEEEEEE and struck fear into teams.

He held the NFL single season touchdown receiving record until Rice broke it.

I was always in awe of him when I was young, but I was actually too young to understand how hard it was to do what he did.

After all the Peyton hype, I'd watch him throw those wobbly ducks all over the field within 20 yards and started remembering the Marino of my childhood. Went back and watched videos like this, then went back and watched Peyton lob balls all over the field, being heralded as the greatest ever and just shook my damn head.

The bar for pure passing is set incredibly high, and it's name is Dan Marino.

If he had that ring I think he would be recognized as the greatest QB ever instead of being lumped into the category with other QB's who had stacked teams.

Greatest passer of all time. Might not have the best career in terms of post season accomplishments but he is definitely the most talented passer.

Dolphins failed him something miserable.

:blessed:

I'm blessed to have witnessed Dan the Man in his prime. His release of the ball was 2nd to none. His battles with Jim Kelly and Drew Bledsoe in the 90s

:whew:

And of course...who can forget

Clayton was crazy fast and great leaper but I doubt he be a star on any other team without Dan

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Clayton was a YAC guy along with that.

He in the open field was scarier than anything about him.

Look at some of those catches. It's all him

Clayton would've been a top Receiver on any team. He just happened to have played with one of the leagues greatest QBs of all time. He was the goods.

Best arm I've ever seen in my lifetime. Dude was a real life megaman with that football...just a cannon for an arm.

My 1st post on the greatest QB of all time? Why not?

Him winning a ring would make the GOAT argument so much easier.
