Yall forgot folding at home already? PS3 games already have dedicated servers. Many other games as well. Now do all of them do? No. Most will opt for peer to peer as it it cheaper.

However, with MS "licensing" dedicated servers to devs instead of using their own, I still don't believe that EVERY MS XB1 multiplayer game will use it. Some devs may still opt to use their own shyt or even continue to use p2p.

I doubt Dice gives up their BF dedicated servers to use MS's. While it IS great to have, will everyone use it?
1.) So you call folding dedicated servers? And this guy claims he's some sort of tech expert. That his job deals with the cloud and some bullshyt that obviously is not true

2.) You don't believe every game will be on dedicated servers? :umad:

3.) 4 or 5 games this gen on PS3 used dedicated servers. When they first announced it you guys acted like PSN >>> XBL, Warhaaaaaaaaaaaawk.
Sony threw you a bone, you ran with it. Now you KNOW it was all bullshyt, and so you trying to downplay xbox taking us gamers a step farther? :wow:
You call me a sony stan, but I am easily able to talk about technology in an unbiased manner.

Do you have access to a Sony SDK? I ask because you are making a shyt load of opinion based assumptions, about infrastructure and dev tools and amongst other things.
Or maybe, just maybe some of us read and discuss these topics almost daily. Then you learn. Others just play games and have no idea how anything works. That doesn't stop them from trying to engage in conversations about topics they know nothing about. Yes, I'm now talking about you. If you want to learn about any of these topics, instead of just saying ":sadbron: you making assumptions" why not ask people to explain it to you and if they could provide a link to what they are saying so you know they not just talking out there ass crack :manny:

Xbots will provide this information, 3cepts will not. Any other questions? We'll be here
Yeah..its been around for a long time. Not too popular anymore though
Uh, they removed that feature bruh

In reality they're all talking about distributed computing. Splitting calculations and processes between multiple cpus or cores.

In theory, the concept would work well on MMO's to divide terrain and AI calculations among game servers and consoles within a game/match. Those calculations and renders would only have to be done once instead of multiple times.

I'll just leave this here:whistle:

Xbox One Cloud VS PS4 Cloud | Video Games And News (VGN)

And the battlefield devs actually praised the cloud and its potential "scaleability"

This is true, but the argument is not being made against lag; that is inevitable. The argument is being made on the bandwidth, of which an input stream will have a negligible impact upon.
:snoop: you just don't get it.

Lag IS the problem, it's the only problem. It is the reason certain things won't be done with the cloud.

Devs won't use the cloud for graphics because it would create an unstable experience with cloud computed things lagging and the rest of the game moving at normal speed.

When you stream an entire game EVERYTHING will lag, this may be acceptable to some people, but any limitations the cloud has are magnified when you talk about streaming an entire game as opposed to streaming part of a game.

Finally, we agree completely.
I wasnt pushing the streaming games angle like it was the best approach, it would only be decent if you are close enough to the server.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
The cloud improving graphics. Is a concept that was created by Sony stans just so they could have something to argue against.

I have not heard one developer say the cloud will improve graphics. What they have said is that it allows them to make A.I./worlds larger and more dynamic. And that it can free up some local system resources.

As Internet connections and speeds get better the technology will evolve and get better.

Life in the cloud :blessed:

So why can't that be done to process SOME assets of a game? Surley if they can stream entire games, they can stream some extra mountains or NPCs

You were clearly talking about the cloud rendering MOUNTAINS :russ: You thought that it could handle some graphics processing, now you flippin the script.

It can and already is handling graphics in the distance. The drop ships in TitanFall are rendered in the cloud.

The question was IMPROVING graphics, which I or no one else to my knowledge have claimed.

Try again buddy

How gullible are you breh? If the One needs cloud computing to render dropships in Source Engine that system is in deep deep trouble.

It's very obvious what you thought it could do from your previous post, you can't spin it now.

Naw you tried to spin my words and you lost. Mountains and npc's are exactly the kinds of things the cloud will be used for. And that has nothing to do with improving graphics.

And no cloud computing isn't "needed" to render drop ships, but it makes for a smoother lag free experience to render them once in the cloud and send them to all players at once, as opposed to all local machines needing to render the same thing and send it to each other.
