OK, but what's the apprehension with marrying someone you been with for 20+ years? I mean, you can just go to the courthouse and handle it. I just find it strange that folk wanna have children with women but won't claim them. My boy has been with his girl for probably 7 years now. Has 2 kids. They have property together, etc. Dude has no plans of getting married. I just don't understand it especially if you don't trust her. Outside of a non-binding legal marriage contract please explain the differences between 2 people having a exclusive relationship without being married vs getting/being married.

Your friend is smart! If he doesn't live in a state which recognizes unions as a common law marriage after a certain time frame then outside of the child support he would pay if he broke up with his girlfriend, he's not on the hook to support her financially or lose/split any of the money, investments, or tangible property which was 100% his before the union or that he's earned exclusively alone based on his own merit! Nor can a judge intervene & improperly or unfairly take or give your friends assets away to his girlfriend randomly.

All the attributes you mentioned above are important in a woman/partner, regardless whether you are going to get married or not. However sex is also an integral part of a successful, long lasting relationship so the traits of the vagina do have to be considered as well!
