Married folks: How much did you spend on your wedding?

We spent less then a $1000. We went to Vegas and got married at the chapel that Jordan got married at. Got us a nice suite stayed a few days. Had a great time and would do it the same way again. I never understood the need to spend stupid amounts of money on a wedding.

Applied for a license, picked it up when it was ready three days later, got married in front of the justice of the peace. Never did an actual ceremony.

Went to Chilis afterwards, total amount spent was about $125 for the license and judge.

Weddings and receptions are for everyone else. Its so much shyt going on the bride and groom can't even enjoy themselves.

I was like nikka, you playing the game backwards
but "they were so in love" and an expensive wedding was just an extension of their love

they thought they could pay it off in a few years

kids came along - daycare costs - schools
new vehicles + old vehicle maintenance

yeah they probably got that initial 30k paid off , but they had to rob peter to pay Paul

Girl to be honest, I don't be close to my family outside of my brother and grandmother on my fathers side. I didn't wanna deal with the drama. I went down south to my grandmas with my husband, my brother, his wife, my mother, and a few of his relatives as well, all we had was a get together. That was it.

That's not smart. we paid for our wedding right out of our own pockets.

Our wedding and honeymoon was 5 thousand total and we both put up half of it. We went to Maui after we tied the knot, and we had a regular ceromony in a church and rented out an art gallery for the reception.

When I got married, her pops spent 20k. We divorced 2 years later.

My boys in NY just went to another asian friends wedding. Apparently its customary at asian weddings for guests to come up and announce how much their gift is. He said the dudes parents came up first, moms gave 50k, dad gave 30k. He said this whole thing lasted 45 minutes, of just family members coming up one at a time. He said the couple came out with close to 300k in cash and the groom also got a sick Rolex.
