I finished the show and overall I liked it. Some parts I had to suspend my disbelief, because the chemistry between Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ben Kingsley was great.

My favorite episodes were 4 and 5. 4 because it was funny , and 5 because we got to see them work together in funny situations. I also liked that the Wonderman movie mirrored the characters' journey.

The ending though I had a problem with.

He set up the security guard, Chuck Eastman, to get locked up. Everyone at the prison already didn't know who Simon was supposed to be. What does Simon think would happen when he goes missing after a prisoner is broken out, and Chuck is left in a maximum security prison for superheroes and villains:dahell:

The security guard just got a life changing amount of money deposited into his account. Does Simon think the government won't take the money and lock him up:why:

The way this ended shows that his brother was right, and he's a selfish person that only thinks about himself. He could have came through the next day, and broke Trevor wearing a Doorman mask.

I don't think it was a failure of Simon's character, but a failure in the writing for the show.

The whole cultural aspect of him being Haitian seemed like a big part of the series. I’m surprised they didn’t lead with that?

It must have worked for me because after I ran through the show I went to sleep and had a dream I was at his mom's birthday party eating a plate that looked like this

Bruh kinda annoying you claim you wanna hide the secret so bad but blow up about any and everything .. you have powers in a world with avengers whooptie doo go be great

Yea the turmoil of being an actor and having powers isn't something regular people can relate to. The only way it works is because we enjoy the character and want to see him win.

On episode 5 now and this is REALLY a breath of fresh air when it comes to Marvel’s approach to storytelling.

Kingsley and Mateen make a great duo. Excellent chemistry.

I know their working on a season 2 but Mateen is a strong enough actor to carry a Wonder-Man film.

Nah, this is partly what messed up the MCU. Stop putting these smaller characters on the big screen in their own films. Leave the movies for the heavy hitters and use Disney+ to push more creative stories.

It's the same way Andor isn't made for mainstream Star Wars fans. Had they tried to push it to the big screen it would've been stripped of everything that made it work.

I'm actually glad I don't have to care about some greater arching story or connectivity if I don't want to. Tell a story, include comic shyt, and entertain me. I don't really give a fukk about anything it could connect to. fukk a young, west coast, and new avengers.

Another thing…this show’s writing & pacing was great. I didn’t know how it would unfold but once it took a step forward it made sense. All the way up to the end I thought it was going to go one way but it made sense that it went how it did instead
