Na
i still don't buy that the F4 can't work. for all the shyt the MCU has gotten for making everyone into a Tony Stark quip machine... they shoulda fukkin made these 4 into Tony Stark quip machines. people are twisting themselves into pretzels telling you how much they enjoyed the performances. it's bullshyt. none of them were exciting. at least make one of them a "character."

good characters, good fun, the cool world, and more Galactus and you probably have a F4 that "works."

i'm a broken record, but it seems like they were so afraid of being compared to Incredibles, which is a carbon copy of the Fantastic 4, that they chopped all the fun out as to not be compared. it's like when that movie John Carter came out, fukkin sucked, and then had people defending how it influenced Star Wars, etc. make it more Star Wars then, lean into it. who the fukk wants to see a more boring Luke Skywalker in a less fun world? why even bother greenlighting it?

a 5 minute opening fight vs Mole Man would have been fukkin fun. yeah, dumbasses woulda said, "that's like Incredibles," but you work with what you got. make it a different setpiece and roll
Ewww no

Did better than I thought but looks like no one gives a fukk about FF...still....when people gonna understand this?
My main excitement for the acquisition of the Fox marvel was the opportunity to see them interact with the avengers.
Avenger V Xmen v Fantastic four. Problem is they retired all the avengers i care about. They gave too much shine to a bunch of characters i also don't care about. So now its just a cluster of mid characters taking up development time. Could have just left it with the 5 og avengers. the og xmen team, FF4, black panther and spiderman. and left everybody as cameos i would have been happy. and thats still plenty enough people to make movies about every year.

MCU feel off because they got too many characters. The merger was a L for them.

The licensing issue is the problem, imagine all of our Marvel heroes under one umbrella facing Galactus or Thanos:
[Thanos appears out the portal in Endgame]
Blade: "Who is this shiny head muthafukka?"

Avengers compound
It is interesting that we won't be seeing 'F4' interact with the OG Avengers team and we won't be seeing the OG Avengers team interact with the new X-Men team.

They should have just rebooted the entire thing after 'Endgame'
They'll reboot the Avengers with new actors after Secret Wars.

Marvel’s Fantastic Four Set To Bomb: $200M Budget, Barely Breaks Even

Disney Officially Confirms Marvel’s Thunderbolts A Bust

I just realized I haven't had the desire to catch F4 a second time. This Summer was supposed to be Marvels comeback

It might really be over over:mjcry:
Honestly they dropped the ball not having RDJ in the movie, if he is Doom and was already announced as Doom why only have him appear in the post credit and all we see is his hood, 2 seconds shot of him in the trailers would had easily meant a big bump at the box office.

They also went away from a working formula by casting cheaper unknown actors
Perdo Pascal not only more expensive. But since he is overexposed right now too, audiences probably had little reason not to know what to expect from his performance. And unknown might've tempted more peoples curiosity.
Or at least of you cast someone well known, do a fan casting. Everybody cheered back in the day when patrick stewart was cast as xavier. because thats who we always wanted to play the role.
ironically i remember alot of people wanting John Krasinski to play reed and they wasted him on a cheap cameo.

Yep, weird they didn't went with him after the positive response in Doctor Strange, specially since there wasn't any super heavy academy award worthy acting moment in that script, John also has more of a dad energy than Pascal that feels more like that fun wacky uncle thats into indie bands and shrooms.

I blamed that entirely on the terrible script not him. But thats besides the point. Pedro costs money and clearly doesn't move the box office.
I won't go as far as the call him an industry plant, but hollywood has a history of overrating the popularity of game of thrones actors. and putting them in shyt they have no business being in.
Sofie Turner was wrong for Jean Grey
Emilia Clarke was wrong for Sarah Conner & Super Skrull
Pedro Pascal Wrong for Reed Richards
Finn Jones was wrong for Iron fist
Joseph Quinn was wrong for Human Torch3
The thunderbolts was good, but the weakest character in that was ghost another game of thrones alum
and so on
stop putting these mid british GOT tv actors as major lead characters in comic book films

To be fair, Quinn was more of a stranger things casting than GOT
