Hov by far

No one cares if HW had more commercial success

Look I totally understand why people would "like" RD more than HW.

As I've aged I defenitly re-visited reasonable doubt a lot more; hov's pen was immaculate and his rapping carries the album.

But musically how RD is not touching HW on an objective level.

The production, mixing, and mastering is lightyears ahead of RD. Half the tracks sound like absolute dog shyt sonically. You can use almost any track on HW to reference for your own work.

Harlem world has better Hooks. There isn't a single hook on reasonable doubt that is better than any hook on HW. And that album had a MF Mary hook.

Reasonable doubt doesn't have cohesion.

The sequencing isn't that good.

we can nerd out deeper but objectively speaking Harlem world has better songs and is a better LP.

Not objectively speaking, Harlem world was a lot more original and took more creative chances than reasonable doubt. Mase really showed TF out.

long story short; Harlem world was a MF VYBE.

The features on Harlem world compared to the features on RD.... :mjlol:

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
In real time? Ma$e, in retrospect though….

But better sophomore album is Jigga by far, Double Up was a big let down, Mase sounded uninspired on that joint

Your confusing uninspired with bad production.

Dont let those horrible beats fool you. Its easy to say he seemed lethargic and unmotivated when he already has a lazy flow.

A huge part of HW’s success was the soundscape was as though an egyptian musical diety with a mpc with a wizards degree in street music theory crafted those joints.

The album even ends as hot as it starts.

If anything, i prolly listen to those last 5-6 tracks more than the front.

Dont have any other album in my catalogue that i can say that aboot.
