P defenders are gonna overlook this post where he basically owns up to biting. He gave a LONG answer to a simple question.

the communication gap in this thread is still wide i see.

NOBODY IS DEFENDING MASTER P!!!!

what you lil dudes dont understand is that we're simply telling you to keep the same energy if you insist on calling out master p. cuz what he was doing is commonplace, and has been done even more by some of your goats. only difference is that P aint tryna pose as an emcee, so he has no problems being blatant with his chit.

cmon man. we even have people in here calling him a biter for sampling a dam record.

threads like these tend to expose alot of people. i love it.

Yeah, XXL asked him about it a couple years ago and he had a hilarious reaction: "If you put out a record and it's that big and you didn't sell nothing, something's wrong. So if I took your idea and I did it better than you, your idea must have not been right anyway. You're not gonna take my idea and do it bigger than me."

how is that hilarious?

this has always been going on, long before master p even picked up a mic.

a lot of rappers that you view as goats have done this just as much as P, if not more.

its just magnified with master p amongst internet types because they hate him for other reasons.:mjpls:

youre getting you times-tables mixed up.

no limit started branding themselves as soldiers long before all the pac tribute records & pac biting.

that kane & abel song didn't drop until summer 1998, which is pretty much around the time when they started going all out with the pac stuff.

I'm not getting time tables mixed up. No Limit don't brand themselves as soldiers until 1997 with "No Limit Soldiers" from TRU 2 Da Game. This came after the "R.I.P. Pac Tribute" from West Coast Bad Bpyz 2.

You got Silkk screaming "all I wanted to be was a soldier" on the song "No Limit Soldier".

this was in-style back then.

and its not like pac was ever really on-camera wearing this aisde from that clip in "above the rim", which was a movie.

it was never part of his brand. and him using the word "soldier" in some raps, isnt that big a deal either.

Only one of those pictures came from Above The Rim and there's other instances of Pac wearing army fatigues. He wasn't just using soldier in some raps. He was making songs about being a soldier.

Look I loved all of P's and no limit records music back in its day.

But he was the Walmart of rap for those who didnt want to dig deep into the souths & bay area's music and history.

He knew exactly who to bite.

like who?

90% of these examples of victims are people who were mainstream or at least nationally known.
the actual local/regional acts that he sharked, were never gonna reasonate nationally.

the dirty little secret that P detractors are avoiding like the plague is that P's versions of the stuff he bit in his heyday were better than the songs he got the ideas from...….and that's another thing. he didn't outright bite most of the songs. a lot of the times he would just take a title, hook, concept or at most a flow. then he'll flip it into something completely different.

the ice cream man sounds nothing like the dru down/luniz version - which was wack.
hoody hoo sounds nothing like outkast song - which I always skipped on SPCM.
UNLV's "bout it" was dope but no way in hell would it have blown up nationally, even if it was on a major.
and yea, P took face's flow on that record, but how come scarface aint never come close to making a banger like that in his 30 years of service??

he did an RIP pac song in '96 as well. whats your point?

im talking about when P started jocking pac's flow & such. hes not rapping like pac at all on those old tribute records.

EXACTLY.
one is a movie clip.
the other pic is rare.

he wasn't the first to make songs about being a soldier(which weren't his calling card). and he definitely never repped it visually like a bunch of others were already doing.

All the Master P hate is funny. If it wasn't for him the south wouldn't be shyt. Eric Sermon said he knew the east coast was dead when Master P opened the doors for the south.

He was already jocking Pac's flow in '97. I take it you never heard "Weed & Hennesey" which was on the single to "Make Em Say Uggh". There's also the Gambino's "Why They Wanna See Me Dead".

Who said Pac was the first to make songs about being a soldier? And yeah, the whole soulja thing was a part of Pac's style and you're talking about he never repped it visually, but there's several pics of him rocking fatigues and they're not rare pictures:

The Top 15 Style Moments From Tupac Shakur | The Source

2 of the 15 pics is him in fatigues.

A lot of these songs P was biting were not better than the original. Some of them were sad knock offs. And he bit more than the title of "Hootie Hoo". He took the chant too. I can't think of one P remake that would make a Top 10 No Limit song besides "Make Em Say Uggh" and "Bout It".

THIS

a lot of these dudes be looking suspect on here.

im not saying that he didn't do a pac flow at all back then. im saying it didn't really jump off until around the last don.

dog, you literally had me click that link just to find out that those are the same exact pictures that you posted earlier.:damn:

yea, title/chant. same thing. the songs are nothing alike tho.

as for the remakes not being top 10 no limit songs, if that's what you think, then that's a compliment.

You said he wasn't mocking Pac's flow in '97, I'm showing you he was.

It doesn't matter if the pics came from that link and there's other pictures besides that link.

A title and a chant aren't the same thing. Song titles are often never recited in the song. This wasn't the case with TRU's "Hoody Hoo" or Kast's "Hootie Hoo". It's the exact same chant.

And no, No Limit's remakes not being Top 10 isn't a compliment. Their versions of some of those songs are wack.

1.) I said he didn't start using pac's flow LIKE THAT until '98. I didn't say he never did it at all.
2.) you lied and said there were more pics and you proceeded to post the same chit.
3.) I figured you knew what I meant, but I guess I should've been more clear. the point still stands tho, that they are completely different songs and the "hoody hoo" chant is NOT one of the reasons hy that song was a hit. otherwise outkasts' joint would've been bigger.

1) P was using Pac's style on Ghetto D on several songs

2) I didn't lie. I said the pics weren't rare, which is why I posted the article. There are pics of Pac wearing army fatigues that aren't in the article. One of them is Pac at a speaking event (which again isn't rare).

3) TRU's "Hoody Hoo" wasn't really a hit and Kast's song is more popular even though it was never really pushed as a single. That song was still popular to the point where people referenced TRU's song to that one.
