As one of the official Max B aficionados on here, ill give my honest take.

Tape was cool but somewhat of a let down. Alot of the beats especially in the 1st half were trash and sounded the same. I dont know who these new producers are but he needs to go back to Los, VIP, Paul Couture.
Songs like Racks on Racks and Jealousy keep me hopeful that he still got it tho.

I think for me, Negro Sprituals is one of my favorite Max tapes ever and he made that IN JAIL after being locked up for 14 years so I assumed him being out with access to better equipment would elevated that sound but it seems he went in a different direction with this tape.

It was cool, but I’m sayin there’s way hotter artists that would’ve jumped at the chance to get on PD7.

In my opinion, max is a niche/left field artist so for him to go with left field features (rocky, Lola , red cafe) fit his formula.

I feel you. I’m happy he showed us the wave can stand alone. Still a little bit of rust but he proved what needed to be proved. He still has it.

I also like this tape but only because there’s so many songs I can pick 15 to keep. He’s struggling with how clean and clear the new recording mics are. He briefly spoke on this and I know what he’s talking about. Sometimes I mute my vocals while I record because it’s almost jarring how clear your voice is. Sounds like someone is talking to you He’ll get it down. He caught it on some of these joints.

As a big Max fan, I'm gonna chalk up the washed voice to all the interviews, meetings, maybe a cold, and recording so much in such a short time. But, that shyt is rough to listen to Still some good stuff on here, just expected it to sound a little smoother.

I feel this is more of a rough draft for the upcoming album with French. Just toss some sh1t out for a quick $$$ grab and get some reps in the booth to see what needs to be improve on. This was not expected so just have fun, see what's his audience response and go from there.
