Atleast Cornell keeping it a buck. It was time to get rid of the establishment and AIPAC ASAP, until we got a job. Then all of sudden we gotta take our time and be strategic :sas2: convinced his people that we should wait to get rid Hakeem Jeffries when he has even more political power as speaker of the house :wow:

It’s almost like some of us said he was gonna need to make some friends to get shyt done months ago even though that may have been upsetting to some :mjlol:

With the clout coins Big Zo has accumulated he can do whatever the hell he want for atleast the next year or so, so go head and get yours African American man.

I understand the criticism, and I would have preferred that they primary Jeffries (even if there was little chance of success). I think the strategic thing for Mamdani to do would have been to stay neutral rather than discourage a primary or support one.

However, I do think that there is a difference between leftists candidates running campaigns when the left is out of power and there is nothing to lose (which is what happened with Mamdani) vs. leftist candidates running campaigns when the left is in power (at least in NYC), and it could drain the left of energy and influence that is sorely needed to implement its agenda.

One of the biggest critiques of the left is that it is content to simply protest and has no viable plan to get in power and deliver on its promises. I think Mamdani sees his term as Mayor as a make-or-break situation: the left is finally in power, and if they fail to deliver, then voters will not support the left in the future. I'm not saying that I agree with the strategy he has taken, but I do understand the rationale.

Stop quoting that man in online blackface - Napoleon still being here is crazy. Anyway, Zohran is just being a savvy politician - his goal is progressive policies and Hakeem Jeffries is the type of Nîgga to hold a grudge and can make your local politics difficult. It’s literally being a smart politician. Everyone knows that. Now if Hakeem lost and this kid actually does primary him - Zohran would have no issue with that. But he’s not going to greenlight that. On the other hand he is likely to back Brad in his congressional race.

I feel like you guys think progressive politicians are children or something. This has been discussed for months in NYC politics about how Zohran would govern. I’ve been telling you guys this for a decade it’s still not getting through. Messaging does not equal governing. You judge how someone will govern based on who they appoint and who their advisors are. He has appointed people signaling that he understands the friends he needs in the city but also people who are decidedly leftist. But he’s not going to use his capital on a war against Jeffries.

I understand it too. And said on here in the past if he was going to get anything done he would need some friends not just overthrow the establishment and AIPAC like some thought his campaign meant. It’s just funny with Tisch and Hakeem some are getting that wake up call. I’m glad he’s open to criticism and critique because he’ll have plenty coming his way and hopefully his stans are open to critique as well. His leash will be short given society’s attention span today.
