Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
I wasn't comparing his fights to Ali. I'm adressing the ridiculous rhetoric that Floyd has only fought bums, your statement. I named the first few fighters I could think of, I'm not going through his roster to appease you.

Canelo and Hatton were top tier fighters when they fought Floyd. My point is and has been that he's fought the best available fighters. Just because HOF'ers aren't available doesn't mean they're bums. Corrales, cotto, de la hoya, and Gatti will all probably be in the HOF eventually.
i'm saying these things cause HE brought up being better, then proceeded to say fighting foreman was simple and plain and Ali shouldn't get no respect for the rope a dope... i wasn't really attacking you

but the general consensus by boxing legends, is that floyd hand picked easy fights... when it was time to fight legends, he waited till they was washed up to fight them

so him, and some of y'all, toting around 47-0 lik ethe ending of the argument.... nah... if he was steady fighting 47 #1 contenders... then you could tote that around

That's everybody though. In 67 fights Hagler really only has 2 names the general public know. Having them on there or not, changes nothing about the ones he did fight. I can't imagine Floyd's legacy being in question cause "legacy maker" Keith Thurman was left off after this fight. It's always someone.....as long as he fought his share of world champs, he's good.
You're not saying anything I didnt already say breh. The question was could anybody point to boxers who Floyd didn't fight, and clearly they can. Obviously no matter what you'd be a Floyd supporter and that's all good I was just responding to the original statement. We're not actually in disagreement on this one.

I hate when yall say stuff like this. Corrales, Gatti, Oscar, JMM, Hatton, Cotto, Canelo, manfredi(hometown). He beat almost every top fighter in every weight class he's fought in. A lot of them were top dogs in the sport. Floyd was turning dudes into bums.

That's the thing floyd makes these fighters look ordinary

Yea canelo was considered a threat to floyd at the time.

Hatton was undefeated and a p4p fighter when he fought floyd

Nothing wrong with thinking he is the GOAT. This is the type of mentality atheletes have.

Best boxer in the worst era of boxing

Ali is a legend.

After Floyd retires boxing will die and nobody will talk about him

How many times a year do you here people bringing up Sugar Ray anybody, The only retired boxers I ever hear people talking about are Tyson, Ali, and Larry Holmes for Flabby and sick purposes but not as a actual boxer

Nobody is talking about De LA hoya or Lennox Lewis

Floyd will fade into bolivian unless he ends up in jail
And mark my words once he can no longer make these cacs any money
They're gonna come after him they will not allow this black man to prosper this rich in our society

He's gonna catch a case book it

For his weightclass its actually a good era

Ali is a legend.

Yes

After Floyd retires boxing will die and nobody will talk about him

So everyone is not gonna talk about the guy who has the highest ppv numbers in boxing history. Even though boxing is having it's best year money wise its just gonna die.....ok.

You're a casual. Real boxing fans and people who are legit interested bring up sugar ray robinson all the time, what are you talking about.
You only hear about tyson and ali because you're a casual fan. De la hoya and lewis are also boxing legends. They might not be as big as tyson n ali but they are still legends.

The problem with a Floyd or Roy Jones or someone like that is they didn't really leave room for anybody else to be great. The only reason Ali is considered as great as he is was due to him having to take his exile from boxing. They gave a chance for Frazier and a few other heavyweights to build their names up in his absence. In turn once a Foreman beats Frazier that elevates him to a great level. Foreman destroying Ken Norton who Ali struggled with elevates him to a higher level. If Ali never was banned from boxing and fought and beat Frazier before Frazier had a chance to build up his name he would've been accused of never really beating anybody and his record being picked apart.

I never thought it like that:ehh:

Roy Jones beat numerous future world champs but was accused of beating nobody because him fighting the whole time never allowed anyone else to really build up their name and make it a superfight.

roy jones

And they got the nerve to say I ain't fight nobody
I just make'em look like nobody

Same way when Floyd beats a Canelo, or a Cotto, or anyone else the story immediately becomes that the person he beat was overrated. Just like if he beats Pac now it'll be because all of a sudden Manny is too old or past his prime. I think if Floyd beat him 3 or 5 years ago the story would've been Manny was overrated.

yep like I was telling @Higher Tech canelo was a threat to Floyd back in 2013, that fight even did 2.2 mill ppv buys.

now people say canelo is overrated basically because Floyd made him look ordinary and Floyd didn't take any damaged.

I have no problem with Floyd saying he thinks he's the greatest cause that's what he should think. And I think since now days with boxing being a way smaller portion of mainstream sports coverage no one will ever be considered better than Ali or SRR

yea boxing was the #1 sport in america back then

from the home of coca-cola, i'm not referring to s
:wow:
What a collective of stupid nikkas in this thread...

The nikka who hasn't even fought and beat Pac yet and brags about being a cherry pick is greater than Ali, a Heavyweight, that beat Smokin Joe Frazier and George Foreman?? Name one person Floyd has ever been in the ring with better than either one of them??

Huge difference between believing in yourself and being a delusional lunatic
