ur not too bright... way to miss the point champ :francis:
he's 47-0 vs bums is the point

i can go 100-0 vs middle schoolers... does that make me better than lebron cause he's lost 3 finals... there's this thing called level of competition

I disagree but I like the mentality. If you work as hard as you can and you've never lost a match why would you believe anyone is better than you just because a lot of ppl say so and because its considered blasphemy saying otherwise? It is brainwashing to an extent
I came to say the exact same thing. He said he had the utmost respect for those guys, but he'll never believe another fighter is/was better than him.

How often do you hear an athlete at the top of his sport say another athlete is/was better than him at the same sport he's excelling in.

I hate when yall say stuff like this. Corrales, Gatti, Oscar, JMM, Hatton, Cotto, Canelo, manfredi(hometown). He beat almost every top fighter in every weight class he's fought in. A lot of them were top dogs in the sport. Floyd was turning dudes into bums.

I can't argue with his logic or his results. He's entitled to feel that way and his points are valid. Reviling him for his opinion will just be emotional.

The problem with a Floyd or Roy Jones or someone like that is they didn't really leave room for anybody else to be great. The only reason Ali is considered as great as he is was due to him having to take his exile from boxing. They gave a chance for Frazier and a few other heavyweights to build their names up in his absence. In turn once a Foreman beats Frazier that elevates him to a great level. Foreman destroying Ken Norton who Ali struggled with elevates him to a higher level. If Ali never was banned from boxing and fought and beat Frazier before Frazier had a chance to build up his name he would've been accused of never really beating anybody and his record being picked apart.

Roy Jones beat numerous future world champs but was accused of beating nobody because him fighting the whole time never allowed anyone else to really build up their name and make it a superfight.

Same way when Floyd beats a Canelo, or a Cotto, or anyone else the story immediately becomes that the person he beat was overrated. Just like if he beats Pac now it'll be because all of a sudden Manny is too old or past his prime. I think if Floyd beat him 3 or 5 years ago the story would've been Manny was overrated.

I have no problem with Floyd saying he thinks he's the greatest cause that's what he should think. And I think since now days with boxing being a way smaller portion of mainstream sports coverage no one will ever be considered better than Ali or SRR.

they were all past their primes when they fought... he didn't fight these dudes in their early 20s and shyt... most not even late 20s... he fighting dudes at 30 and up, on their way out the door

So Floyd was in his prime when fighting those guys? Those dudes were no more removed from their primes than Floyd, with the exception on Oscar. He fought a prime Corrales, Prime Canelo, Prime Hatton, JMM, prime Manfredi, had one of his greatest fights AFTER fighting Floyd. These dudes were nowhere near washed up or bums.

dude... canelo... hatton... these nikkas are nooooooooobodies on the lanscape of foreman.... frazier

ali out here fight LEGENDS... bring up these names in 10 years, let alone 30... and watch yourself get laughed out of the building

floyd being old and them being old doesn't make them better or legends or up their status

if flyod was beating 25 year olds and he was 25... i'd be more impressed.. shyt if he was out here beating up multiple title champions i'd give it to him

47-0 and you named 7 good fighters... meanwhile most boxing EXPERTS say the same thing.. so it's not just some coli logic... boxers and commentators who seen boxing since the 70s are saying the same thing

I wasn't comparing his fights to Ali. I'm adressing the ridiculous rhetoric that Floyd has only fought bums, your statement. I named the first few fighters I could think of, I'm not going through his roster to appease you.

Canelo and Hatton were top tier fighters when they fought Floyd. My point is and has been that he's fought the best available fighters. Just because HOF'ers aren't available doesn't mean they're bums. Corrales, cotto, de la hoya, and Gatti will all probably be in the HOF eventually.
