“When you call yourself the best boxer in the world you have to fight with the best. There are other names at 147 pounds and if Mayweather does not have the courage to get in the ring to fight with me, my career has to continue. I won’t wait for him.” Cotto 08

And here's your L
:pacspit:

May wanted to fight Cotto at 140 but Cotto's team ducked him, it wasn't until May was the top dog that they started popping off at the mouth, by that time May was like fukk it, I dont need yall now.

Okay I'll play ball, but miss me with all the bullshyt metaphors and analogies that dont apply to anything I said

im disparaging his opponent choices, and why he decides to fight them past their primes.. I don't care if he wins or losses.. I just want to see good fights.

I enjoyed when Floyd took on everyone. I respected him rematching Castillo after he was robbed the 1st time...I appreciated his destruction of Diego Corrales and Gatti. Floyd use to fight everyone in his division. I don't know wtf happened.

Mayweather fights and beats Judah coming off a loss,

Ducks Margerito after being called out numerous times.. then fights a washed up Oscar and Wins by a split decision in a close fight (closer than you Floyd stans make it seem) and then backs out on the rematch claiming he has to go on vacation :comeon:

After being called out he crawls out of retirement to fight and KO a highly overated bum, Hatton, after he looked absolutely horrible against Collazo, Urango and knocked out a shot Castillo. Hatton actually is giving Floyd problems the first half of the fight..

At this point Cotto has beat Mosely.. Floyd beat Hatton...there are no roadblocks for a Mayweather-Cotto fight. Mayweather was free, Cotto was free. It was the biggest fight in the sport at the time, Arum was willing to co-promote (backed up by him working with Golden Boy twice that year) and Cotto was clearly up for the fight. It was Mayweather who came out with the excuse.. right from the bytch lips "Cotto isn't a PPV attraction" :bryan: :stopitslime: then the bytch crawls back into retirement... This the type nikka y'all
Wanna worship :usure:

Do I need to keep going guys?? Let me know

this right here is gospel...this is the same shyt ive been saying for a min with floyd and why i have no emotional connection to him as a fighter even though he has HOF talent..his fights since he entered the welters gave me nothing to be excited about

Your right about Floyd at lightweight he didnt have a ton of fights either but
IMO Phillip Ndou is as good if not better than anyone on Duran's record at lightweight though. I think Floyds speed, reach, defence, ring generalshipand overall technical ability as well as him having solid to good power at lightweight, plus a great chin would carry Floyd past Duran. Ill tell you one thing it would be a better fight than if he fought Pac.

I think it's indicative of how much of Duran's LW stuff you've watched if you think Philip N'Dou is within sniffing distance of Marcel, Buchanan, DeJesus, Mamby, or Viruet. I recommend you watch a couple of these guys' fights. They were very, very good.

I don't deny Floyd's ability at all, I just think he loses on styles. Chavez would probably beat him too at that weight.

He beats Zab who just had just lost his undisputed crown to Baldomir, ok people judge that fight, but the contract was already signed, and people felt the tough Journeyman's win was a Fluke, and still was clamoring for that fight

People says he's ducking the undisputed champ in Badamir he shuts him out, best display of boxing I have ever seen, it was like a NBA player against play ground ballers. He breaks his hand mid fight, fight one armed and still dominate Baldomir, even taking rounds where he would just throw the same punch over and over, left upperhook, dodge left upperhook next round right cross doge right cross dodge:heh:. Then He tries to retire because of his brittle hands afterwards, knowing this injury might of haulted his career, haters hate and brought Floyd to tears instead of showing respect

Then Fights ODH at 154 in a fight everybody wanted to see, and their record breaking PPV numbers showed, he out boxed, and buckled the Iron chin Warrior numerous times, a fighter that outweighed by like 15-20 pounds, Oscar whose intentions was to maul the little man, in the little ring, one 2-3 close rounds that's it.

Hatton comes along and everybody including ESPN and Brian Kenny said Floyd was ducking Hatton since Hatton called him out numerous times, Floyd fights him, in his type of fight and get the brutal KO, destroying the Hatton aura.

JMM calls out Mayweather, Mayweather Makes it happens in a WW bout, at that time there were plenty off Pacquaio fans saying Floyd would finally get his ass whoop[ed because JMM is the most technical sound fighter Floyd has fought and that he beat Manny twice. Fight comes Floyd beats him from pillar to post, while having one of the greatest offensive tacticians completely befuddled with his D only landing 16%:ohlawd:. Pac fans claimed it was the 16 oz's and 144 pounds for the reason JMM looked bad, he then Manny fights him at the same weight trying to get an advantage like he does, and got his ass beat dominated again

Then comes along Mosley, the Lineal champ and P4P #3 fighter at the time who was schedule to fight Berto after he destroyed the fighter pactards like to claim Mayweather ducked Margarito. Berto pulls out cause of a earthquake, then Mayweather steps up short notice and quick camp, to take on Mosley, and despite a well educated lucky punch early on, Mayweather buckled down and beat Mosley far greater than Forrest or Winky, that was the worse I ever seen one of my favorites get beat, he destroyed Mosley also, after that match Mosley was terrified of pulling the trigger in fear of those counters he caught from Floyd

Victor Ortiz comes along, and beats Berto who was the champ and ducked by the like's of Pacquaio and Cotto who moved to 154 to avoid that matchup. Ortiz earned that shot at Floyd, he just wasn't ready for that spotlight and with the brutal beating that Floyd was unleashing, coupled with trash talk, he broke Ortiz, then tried to get DQ, and sat their and let Floyd Ko him his way of quiting mentally and folding under the pressure

Then Cotto leaves TR and the fighter that Floyd allgedly wants no parts of, he signs to fight with like a few weeks later, he went into his division no catchweights, and styled and profilled on Cotto, Boxing the shyt out of him for the first 5 rounds, buckling him a few times early on, and so forth. Cotto had his moments and has shown that if you play the boxing game with him you yourself will get touch up some with his running ass, like he did to Marg in the 1st match and also Pacquaio who won but head was bandaged and had a busted eardrum....Floyd adjusted unleashing heavy counters while he slipped and dodged, after round 9 Cotto only strategy was to bend his head down and grab Floyds arms while infighting, Floyd thens get back on his bicycle around round 11 showed he could of did that the whole fight, then nearly Ko's him, but showed respect to Cotto, and also saved him for a potential rematch..............Pure showmanship

Who did Floyd duck any non biased person could look at his resume and see he cleaned out that WW division, only name WW his resume is missing is Pacquaio, and it's well documented how many time Manny ducked that match, who exactly did Floyd duck the cheat Margarito who got demolished by Mosley, Joshua Clottley:childplease:

I don't know why I'm wasting time arguing with people who don't know shyt about boxing,..................

I also find the calling out of Mayweather for pick and choosing to be silly as well. Every big name fighter picks and chooses. They have the luxury of doing so. You think Sugar Ray Robinson was about to let them Murderer's Row dudes get a shot at him? fukk no. And boxing fans, even educated ones, call him the greatest of all time.

So you rather Floyd fight a fighter he just beat, and a fighter that lost 3/5 of his last fights, exculding the gift ODH recived against Sturm, than the Undefeated and p4p fighter who everybody claimed Floyd was ducking in Hatton:comeon:

Palimino was solid nothing spectacular though and Cueves fight was technically light middleweight, and dude was not on the level Palimino and certainly not on the level of Leonard.

i think ppl lump in all of durans work and dont focus on 135... duran at 135 was huge...

mayweather at the time wasnt considered a huge fighter for his weight class as evidenced that may is still comforable at 147... duran went up many classes over..

i jus think it plays out like may v. castillo 1( regardless of who really) except duran is smarter, faster, harder puncher and better boxer than castillo... and bigger

shame shame shame at ppl comparing duran to mayorga...wtf..

as far as chavez... again ppl here im sure would point out to whitaker schooling him but that was at a upper weight.. not 135 where chavez would be big for that weight... also whitaker was beating up chavez in his best area inside fighting... could floyd do that...

life or death fights for both sets of fighters.... i dont see floyd schooling these two guys like he did overrated corrales but to be fair i dont see chavez or duran throwing floyd around the ring with impunity either...

these are the types of things that intangibles would play a great part of mythical fight, (gloves ring size, location,) etc..... and to be honest these guys had in their prime the same work ethic as floyd and i think floyd wouldnt be on that money may gambling persona but hed be strickly buisness AND THAT IS ALSO A SCARY THOUGHT OF FLOYD EVEN BEING MORE COMMITED AND FOCUSED FOR A FIGHT...

JMM is very educated offensive fighter, he is great at finding and maintaing distance and control that distance by keeping his left foot outside of his opponents right, keeping them in direct target of his onslaught, plus his precision on his punches coupled with having some of the most beautiful combos's ever thrown makes JMM no walk in the park for no one, he was even able to catch Floyd with at least 5 flush Overhand rights in the fight and Floyd rarely gets hit flush once............This is what I mean by people don't know shyt about boxing

Agreed. And yeah if you're comparing Duran to Mayorga you're a fukking idiot. Chavez was mediocre above 135 tbh. Don't get me wrong, I think theyd be great fights. I just think Floyd would lose them.

TBH duran wasnt looking hot at even 147 let alone 154 and 160. He just liked those weights because it let him binge and party and eat all he wanted when he got older.
