Seems like a lot of people are showing their age or lack of boxing knowledge in this thread. I think Mayweather would win a hard fought decision if it was schedduled for 12. But he would go through hell to get it. Duran was an absoloute monster at 135. One of the all time greats. This man was considered to be the greatest boxer at that weight ever. He would give Floyd problems all day, just think Floyds defensive prowess would help him prevail. But in a 15 rounder i think Duran would wear him down with the body punches and knock him out.

Floyd was a different monster at that weight as well, more power, more combos all action. Fight wouldn't last 15 rounds. Duran would quit (he's done it before) after getting tagged up for so long.

I think it would go either way. Duran has beaten better fighters and at 135 the GOAT. But Floyd has yet to show a big enough exploitable weakness in his game.

Durans power might be the deciding factor.

I dont know. I wouldnt put my money on either of them. :heh:

He's a ok fighter, but greatly overrated, he had a long list of B class fighters and cans on his resume, only beat Leonard the once and got sparked in every other big match up he had, he's the equavialent of this this generations Ricardo Mayorga dismantling the top fighter in Forrest, only to constatly be embarrassed by the other elites:russ:

29bo8wm.gif

if i cared enough to neg u every day, i would.

as-is, ur opinion on boxing is on ignore status.

Even then comparing Duran to Mayorga is still  status
Especially when talking about there biggest wins since
beating a prime SRL >>>>>> Beating a prime Forrest

Duran made his fame at 135. He's one of the best lightweights of all time and was effective in higher weights as well getting wins over fighters like Iran Barkley. Just for the record. You don't even have to take us in here seriously if you don't want to. Ask any notable boxing writer and they'll tell you how great Duran was and why comparing him to Mayorga is :beli: status.

And Floyd was truly a beast at 130lbs which is jr lightweight. He was only selectively beasting in the higher weights. Ya'll expecting Money to beat Duran at 135 who was one of the most skilled educated pressure fighters ever when he's having close fights with Jose Luis Castillo. :wtf: Duran is like a beastmode version of Castillo on steroids. I'm not shytting on Floyd but ya'll young dudes gotta learn the history of the sport and respect the great fighters of yesterday because they were great for a reason. nikkas just ain't trying to argue about Floyd not beating cats like Duran, SRL, Hearns etc..for their health or for no reason. Dudes are really trying to help ya understand shyt so don't take this as offense breh.

this nig on the other hand knows his shyt.

Duran=Mayorga? :mindblown: :facepalm::facepalm:

Floyd is gonna go down in the GOAT conversation, but the guy is plagued by having the dumbest fans in sports.:snoop:

Floyd would win a decision over Duran though.

In my humble opinion Hearns beats Mayweather. (Fight would be at 147 right)

Hearns had excellent boxing skills, one of the best jabs ever, shyt was rapid fire status. Quick hands and he had crazy power. Plus his reach was crazy. He'd be tagging nikkas from across the ring. Just because Floyd beat Corrales doesn't mean he beats every tall fighter. Corrales is nowhere near Hearns level in skill, size, power, and speed. Hearns actually fought tall so Floyd at 5'8 is gonna have his hands full fighting a dude at 6'1 with all those attributes.

Mayweather is a great fighter but he'd have a lot to overcome trying to stay competitive let alone beat Hearns. You can't outbox that nikka. You gotta out fight him and I can't see Floyd trying to out fight Hearns without taking some severe punishment. Hearns chin wasn't the best, but it wasn't Amir Khan status either and Floyd doesn't hit hard enough to crack it.

And for the record I think the whole fantastic four (SRL, Hearns, Hagler, Duran) beat Floyd and Pac. I feel they would also beat the previous generations of welters too (Trinidad, Dela Hoya, Quartey..etc) I'm not saying it would be easy either, but I feel they would win. Everybody I listed were great fighters but the fantastic four were just on another level.

i think floyd wins by decision, but in no way would i ever describe duran as mayorga. mayorga was a fool drinking beers and smoking before fights.

i do think hearns could beat mayweather, and i think the hopkins that showed up against trinidad could beat anybody

I don't understand how anything I posted there could appear crazy to anybody that has a sound grasp on the sport of boxing and it's fighters.

Saying that one great fighter should be able to beat another great fighter
(Hearns/Money) shouldn't warrant that reaction especially when I explained why but hey....:manny:

nikkas acting like Hearns=Paul Williams :comeon:

but since you got nikkas thinking Duran=Mayorga, fukk it why not.
