Thats why he wouldn't take many of em, let's not forget Floyd has the reach advance plus some of the best defense and countering we have ever seen. I think we can pick a lot of fighters that would have given Floyd more problems then RD.

first, im not hating on Floyd. Im a big Floyd fan and I think he is a better boxer than Hearns and better than the entire Fabulous 4. I dont know why I even have to explain it to your slowly mcslow self.

Second, Hearns had one of the GOAT jabs. He snapped it out so quick that it was hard to see, and it was with great power.

The other thing is that Hearns fought tall and was a really good boxer.

Its not "hating" I just believe that is the toughest match up for Floyd out of those 4, and I am not sure how he beats Hearns since he is susceptible to a jab.

He has these 4 advantages. now someone list their advantages over Floyd.

Don't get me wrong I know ANYBODY can lose so I'm not being biased but lets present the facts of each fighter, not what we THINK.

If Ray can frustrate Duran and make him quit, why can't Floyd do the same being that he's more skilled than Ray?

If Ray can beat Hearns, why can't Floyd? What makes Ray better than Floyd?

If Ray can beat Hagler ( highly disputed but never the less) why con't Floyd?

Nostalgia/ favoritism seems to be ruling this thread. Not saying Floyd can beat these dudes hands down, but let's present facts/ weaknesses/ strengths of each fighter, then make a fair assessment.

Ray really only got to Hearns because Hearns wore down late and Ray had the size, strength & power to hurt Hearns. Floyd doesn't have that. He's not as naturally big or as strong as Ray was.

Again with Hagler, Floyd doesn't have the size or power to be fighting the best middle weight ever. Maybe Floyd could score & run all night against Hagler, but I doubt it. But he sure couldn't fight & beat Hearns that way. Tommy just had too many physical advantages in a head-to-head. That's not to say that you can't rank Floyd over these guys as an overall fighter. That's a different argument.

Counter the jab of a nikka with a 6 inch reach advantage & taller & and as quick? Where they do that at?

You forgetting that Floyd be having the reach advantage against virtually every fighter he's ever fought, including Oscar.

Hearns has a 6 inch reach advantage over Floyd. How can you counter someone that is 6 inches away? Its not a fight that Floyd will be able to get his shyt going like he normally does.

STOP IT! HE DID NOT LOSE THAT FIRST FIGHT. Them two fights is not the polished floyd castillo fought. floyd didn't learn to do the shoulder roll that time of his career.

Did you see the fight? Castillo dictated the pace of the fight and was putting the pressure on him. He was smothering Floyd, not letting him get his shots off and hitting him with body head combos....and Floyd was doing the shoulder roll way before the Castillo fight too. Floyd is one of the best to do it but he lost that fight and it would not be impossible to suggest that he could lose to Duran
