I'm surprised that these franchises haven't taken this opportunity to move faster toward kiosks for ordering at the very least. I'm also surprised that they haven't automated some of the functions of the kitchen.

Probably a cost of tech thing, though. Maybe they just need to wait a decade for the tech to reach a cost point that makes sense.

you can order everything from your phone for pickup or delivery at most fast food spots. They need employees to deal with the mobile orders and more employees in the kitchen since more orders can get through at once and they're might be more orders in general.

went to get an ice cream thing at Sonic yesterday and the line was wrapped around the corner... probably low on staff.

Funnily enough, went to the McDonald’s around the corner from me and there was a hefty line too..big ass “Help Wanted” signs in both the drive thru windows.

Yep... He was actually telling me about full time if I wanted to go that route. I think he thinks my day job is some gump sh1t because he was telling me about the benefits of going full time. After peak season the FT employees start out at 21, with benefits from day 1, and a 401k... He did mention people quitting without notice but warehouses always have a high turnover rate, that's the nature of the business. Everyone isn't built to be working in a warehouse with no air. Luckily since I'm coming in the evening that won't be an issue for me.

Real talk there are some people who parlay two jobs (a full time and a part time) to set them up for life. I talked on here how my dad has two pentions because of this.

Anyway a older kat I knew retired at like 52 cause of this. He had a full time office job (he was a buyer at a major company) making like 70 to 80 a year. Then in like 1999 he got on fedex working nights part time like 20 hours a week. Brotha said it was an easy job where he used SAP like at his full time job and sat on his ass.

Anyway after like a year he was gonna quit the part time fedex job but his wife was like why quit the medical and pension benefits better than your current job. So he says fukk it lets see how long I can work both jobs but take advantage of these benefits. So he uses the fedex medical benefits and dumps his full time job medical benefits. But makes sure he opts into his pension benefits for both jobs.

He does like 20 years at Fedex and 25 at the full time job and retires with full pension from both of them at 52 years old.
