People are still playing Life If Good regularly? Like honestly? I played it for about two weeks then went back to bumping Illmatic and It Was Written.

This.

I found myself try'na get into LIG more than I really wanted to. I played it for like a week, and haven't listened to it since. I remember when I'd have a Nas CD, (yes, a CD!), and I'd ride around with just that one album for months! But this is back in like '96-'98, when he was in rare form. I'll always check for Nas, because I just wanna see this dude win. But I haven't really fukked with any of his albums heavily since I Am. I still play Illmatic like it dropped yesterday.

His first three I fukk with all day, and of course, all the features and unreleased shyt. But I just haven't been able to dig the albums after I Am, on the same level as those first couple joints. I've definitely tried.

Production wise MCHG is miles ahead but LIG is miles ahead lyrically

LIG had absolutely no replay value at all. I played at couple tracks for like a week and never touched that album again

MCHG will keep me hooked on the production alone

how about the beauty of the MCHG & LIG combination....a perfect offering from 2 GOATS. They both have different makeups due to different outcomes of their respective lives....but they both tell great tales.

i know i'm sounding light right now but i'm celebrating...my GOAT just put out the most relaxed, well-paced, enjoyable classic of his career....

Pick pretty much any beat from MCHG and you can get into it more easily than anything on LIG. LIG was sort of a throwback album. Wasn't really pushing the sound of hip hop forward at all. With that said, pick pretty much any verse from LIG and it's better than pretty much anything from MCHG. Not much new or interesting on MCHG. but there was some really interesting new content on LIG to me. They both have their place. Basically the same nas v jay conversation for the last 10+ years. Same as it ever was.

There is really a 6 page thread comparing an album that came out a year ago, to an album that hasn't even been out for a day :what: the stan wars continue

Lyrically, Life Is Good trumps MCHG, but you cant dispute these beats tho :whew:

You have to be one season salty ass nikka to not fukk with MCHG beats :heh:

LIG is good for a thoughtful day, but MCHG is for the inner rachet :ahh:

I only kept like 3 tracks from LIG, da fukk is so dope about cherry wine? Winehouse is annoying on that shyt. I'm not even gonna compare the albums yet but I will say that if I were to delete the joints off MCHG that I know I don't wanna keep there would be more left over than it was from LIG, doesn't really say much about the overall comparison but really....

no introduction
loco-motive
queens story
you wouldn't understand
the don
stay

The rest of that shyt from LIG hit the recycle bin, I know I at LEAST like 6 tracks from this new joint, and I haven't even really heard all of the tracks yet.

The difference between Jay and Nas though is that Hov could do what Nas does. Hate the image, hate the laziness, shyt I do too, but Jay could lyrically do what Nas does. Could Nas do what Jay does? :mjpls:
