You know how sometimes when you hear an album performed live it connects with you more and you appreciate it more after seeing it live? Well, that didn't happen for me at all. I got that vibe from Born Sinner though, his set was a lot better for that one than this one IMO. I just don't think that FHD is a good concert album... I thought that after a few spins, and I felt that before I went to the concert, and after going to the concert my feelings were confirmed.

I don't know if it was because it was hot as shyt out here when he did his show (concert was outside) or what, but breh was taking forever to segue into songs. Talking about why he penned Wet Dreamz and asking for nikkas in the crowd to sing along if they could relate

It's crazy how THIS album from him is doing numbers like this for these kind of venues.
I saw the show on the European tour in Stockholm. It was in a smaller theater and I think it resonated more with the crowd. this album is really personal so it was dope that where he was performing wasn't that big of a venue.

This is the real question.

Before I went to the concert I legit haven't played this album in months, not even a song off of it.
Neither had I. Cole is just that guy that people want to see win that is relatable. He doesn't do anything particularly great anymore, but he does everything better than most of his generation and his COme Up, Warm UP, FNL era fostered loyalty. I bought J. Cole's album and not Wale's and I like Wale's better. But maybe I bought in too because I fukk with dude heavy still as well despite these critiques. :manny:

I had the opposite experience, i saw him live and it made me love the album and understand it even more with the long ass interludes between songs
