My mind is an orchestra of chaos, constant thoughts upon thoughts that is killing my productivity. Tried to do meditation but this shyt doesn't work :heh: boring as hell and feels pointless. All these audible books and self help gurus are recommended it though....

Porn is more relaxing than this shyt. Maserati has a new scene out that she is stuck in an elevator, post pregnancy thick .. lawd. :damn:

Help me get meditation to work brehs or porn will be my official mindfulness activity. :shaq:

Go to a Buddhist temple. Read some Buddhist literature and understand not only how to properly meditate, but it's actual purpose and idea behind its design. Start off slow with 10/15 intervals. It's not the absence of thought. It's supposed to allow you to think more clearly. Learn proper breathing techniques.

The fact that you're mind is unstable is the exact reason you need to meditate. But you're on the right path. Keep it up and try not beat yourself up if you cannot maintain focus. As a beginner your meditation practice should be centered on realizing when your mind deviates and then slowly and gradually centering your attention on the object of focus.

I am currently on a meditation retreat now and am taking 1 to 2 hr breaks in between. I have gotten to the point where i can sit in stillness for 2 hours with relative ease. its takes practice. but most of all it takes consistency. whatever you do not give up. make it a daily routine to meditate at least 20 mins out the day

FACTS, I agree Breh.

:snoop:

I've tried almost everything to calm my anxiety and ADHD down from cold showers to meditation.

Nothing works, but I always keep trying to come back to meditation for some reason.

:ohhh: Might try this. Does the where you do it matter? I would think in nature would have better effect than in the city.

you need to be in an environment where there are little to no distractions. check out a vipassana retreat. it is a strenuous group meditation for 10 days straight, 10hrs per day. and there are instuctors there who'll guide y through

as for me i rented a small cabin in the woods and have been doing it on my own. i probably should have done the vipassana retreat first because i am not disciplined enough to refrain from using technology. in a vipassana retreat you cannot use any technology or speak to anyone. its pretty hardcore

What i don't get is when your in a situation that causes anxiety, they say "be in the moment" but the current moment is what is causing your anxiety. Only way to escape is to literally escape the situation.
