I always advise against learning with apps, but that's cause I learned the traditional way like a decade ago, at a meditation center. Doing it in a group setting with some refreshing discussion really helps imo. Our instructor was so dope. This Asian American dude but he got cancer and died a few years ago :to:

We used to do a series of meditations (walking, singing, etc) before we got into the full on, legs crossed type shyt.

Bottom line you can't just close your eyes and think you're meditating. Not early on at least. Find a guide and good community if possible and remember to LET GO. Even when the thoughts come, just let them gone about their way

What i don't get is when your in a situation that causes anxiety, they say "be in the moment" but the current moment is what is causing your anxiety. Only way to escape is to literally escape the situation.
Anxiety and excitement are the same thing, it's just how we're interpreting them. There's studies out there on this

I can't do the sitting still meditation, I prefer meditation in motion.

-yoga
-taking a walk (there's the prettiest pond by my place that I walk around)
-grab a paper/pen and literally just write anything that comes to mind
-cooking
-painting

It's anything really. The goal isn't to really stop your thoughts, but to rather think in the present, if that makes sense.
Whenever a thought pops into your head, you acknowledge it and let it fly on by.

FACTS, I agree Breh.

:snoop:

I've tried almost everything to calm my anxiety and ADHD down from cold showers to meditation.

Nothing works, but I always keep trying to come back to meditation for some reason.

:mjcry:

I need to try meditation.
Starting to think I have inattentive ADHD, for one my mind is constantly on 100mph it doesn't stop.

I think you have to re think what meditation is, for it to work.

Meditation can simply be focusing on a specific thought and holding it.

I meditate while driving to work or going for a jog. Just let my mind drift

Meditation is more about relaxing the body rather than the mind.:manny:
