i know a young breh who got hired because he was making fan content/edits and then the person he was making them for hired him because he was seeing them, needed a social media guy and liked his work.

i don't think it's exclusive to white people.

A friend I went to high school with ended up being Wiz Khalifa's photographer because he met him at SXSW and asked if he could take some photos of him. He later messaged his team and ended up being his photographer on one of his tours. Obviously he had all his photo/video work posted online already.
