She's going for sympethy basically she got got (like everyone else did) when she signed then Roc Nation looked over her deal and told her, She went to her label to renegotiate and since there's a dispute the lawyers need to halt all new music so they they can figure out how much it's worth to let someone buy her out of her contract.
It's the same reason why Lil' Wayne stopped making music when he got into it with Baby over money, If she put out new music and it went gold or platimum all that's gonna do is make her buyout more expensive.

Nah she signed to a small independent label because that's who was checking for her at the time. However the only thing a label can do for you that you can't do for yourself is plant you meaning get you on TV shows, big interviews, pay radio stations to play your music etc.
So her company made a deal with Lyor Cohen's company 300 music (which hasn't done much with acts they signed themselves) to push Meg. It worked.
Then Roc Nation (which is dong the contract renegotiation thing that Suge did back in the day) went to Meg telling her that Jay's co-sign can get her an even bigger bag so she fired her management and signed a management deal with Jay.
Roc Nation wants to be a Major Major label like Atlantic so they're trying to basically steal Meg from her label. Basically what's happening is negotiations behind the scenes where they're deciding how much Meg is worth.
If Meg put out more music that would make her more popular but it would make selling her deal more expensive, and since the artist pays for everything 5 years from now she's gonna campaign to get off Roc Nation.

What was she supposed to do instead?
Even Macklemore and Chance the Rapper had record labels promoting their music and distributing for them
