I have heard him hint at retirement after damn near every fight after the de la Hoya fight but it never felt like it was more than a few years I between fights and I honestly never heard about any of this. That would explain why he has been so boring tho.

I know that's why him and 50 fell out, cause they agreed to start a promotion together before he went to jail and after 50 put up the money he backed out, I hope he is investing in something so he can stay paid

Yeah it was almost 2 years in between the Hatton and Marquez fight....it was enough time that Pacquiao became the guy everyone wanted to see him fight as opposed to Cotto (who they claimed he was ducking when he retired). In that time frame Pacquiao disposed of Marco Barrera, Marquez for the 2nd time, David Diaz, Oscar De La Hoya, and Hatton......He became the pound for pound number 1 in the sport.

There was also a Brian Kenny/Floyd Mayweather interview on ESPN with Brian Kenny asking Floyd if he was really going to trim down his lifestyle and Floyd talked about selling all his cars.

Seems funny & absurd now in retrospect because now he has like 3 bugattis and has made way more money in the 2nd half of his career since returning from retirement than he did his first half but around 2008 dude was fukked up and had to come back and fight. All that said, for a guy who likes money as much as Floyd it was clear he didn't enjoy boxing anymore in 2008 when he turned down a 2nd fight with Oscar De La Hoya that guaranteed him another 20 million plus......But after all the money fukk ups. He legit had no choice.

That is crazy cause you keep posting more evidence of this, and I really don't remember it being that serious. I still don't believe it happened if with this proof lol.. like I never even would have thought he would actually retire, kinda like Jay -z threatening to retire since 96, if jay would have tried to retire before black album I would have been :mindblown:

back on topic, I had been hearing rumblings of CJ being out of it the last few years, I hope its due to personal reasons and not cause the Lions sucked the sole out of him..

I'm in the minority here, but I feel most folks should aim for that big contract and then skip out once they hit 30. From that point on, ever year its, "Omg guys he's a year older, will his body breakdown :wow:" or "Hey he's a year older, its time to restructure that contract. That cap hit is going to hurt the team." :jbhmm:

Why deal with that level of stress from within the organization when you're already putting your welfare on the line against external opponents?

you spot on breh

in sports you supposed to stack as much bread as possible in your short window

do not leave a fukking dollar on the table and dont show one shred of sympathy for a professional sports organization

I imagine he'll sit the year out and let his body heal.

Then he'll realize he can go to a better organization with a better qb and still get paid millions to play.

I think he'll be back for 2017, he'll stilll be young too..

I guess we can cement that Larry Fitzgerald is better :manny:

:salute: Megatron...His physicality and stature was pretty much unmatched out there. Sad to see him go but i didnt even think it had been 9 years yet.
