People were only saying it was a best fit basketball wise and that has yet to be disputed

Nobody claimed Chicago could pay him more

Shut up
Chicago might be the best basketball fit RIGHT NOW for Carmelo to win a title, but that's very dependent on Rose being completely healthy.

The one idea I will agree with is that, while he has allowed some of the dumbest moves in recent basketball history to be made, Dolan is willing to spend every dime on Earth on the roster. We all know Reinsdorf won't make that commitment. If Dolan could figure out how to get out of his own way and put somebody in place who could fix the roster, the Knicks have every resource available to win. If Melo believes Phil is that guy, who's to say that, grand perspective, he didn't make the best basketball move?

Him saying saying he wants to win, and then signing with the Knicks is an insult to all of our intelligence. Speaking of money, why didn't he take the full max??? Not like they can sign a quality player with the crumbs he left on the table anyways.
so we can have the max available next year breh . And by thr way maybe he felt Phil's plans were a better chance to win a title . Your team is cheap and the FO has issues with thibs that's not exactly ya recipe for a guaranteed winner . While Phil was out the gate making moves and getting rid of locker room cancers . Your team didn't even come prepared to offer the 4 year max after supposedly planning for all this time :snoop: I told you bulls fans we were never doing a sign and trade with your supposed assets

He should've said it WAS about the money.

And when he received backlash all he would have to do is use their tactics of deflection:

ex.

Billionaire owners:sas1:
Steve Nash:sas2:
Prison system:mjpls:

even without rose on the roster, the bulls are light years ahead of the knicks. with or without melo. that's been proven the last two seasons.

I'm still :dahell: at Bulls fans thinking CHI was the best destination for Melo.

1. CHI has a cheap & ineffective front office that has struggled to build a championship team since MJ left. Even you Bulls fans acknowledge how bad y'all front office is...you don't think Melo talked to them, talked to people around the league and knew that he'd end up in a situation where his FO won't build around him (just like the Bulls haven't built around Rose)?

2. Speaking of Rose, he's hurt & there's no guarantee he'll come back as a top 5-10 player. He was mediocre at BEST in limited games before he got hurt again. If you're gonna commit to a team long term, how you gonna be comfortable goin to a place where the franchise player is another injury away from being done?

3. Phil sold him a better vision and even tho I'm not a fan of Melo or the Knicks the plan is probably to be garbage this yr, shoot for respectability next yr, acquire picks, shed bad contracts and get busy in free agency in a couple seasons.

Melo is probably not going to ever win a title in NY, but I laugh at the thought that him passing on CHI means that he doesn't WANT to win a title. Going to the Bulls never made sense

Not exactly light years. Did you forget that the season before last the Knicks had the second best record in the East?

And the idea here is that Knicks ownership is A LOT more willing to spend that if they just got their management together they could figure it out. Apparently people trust that that management is Phil Jackson.

And people can't accuse you of being a ny homer , sooo how can we get Teague from you :patrice: shump :wesuckbro: and amare sounds good right ?.......... Right right :to:
exactly. I thought the basis of phil's sales pitch was having ample cap room in summer 2015.
he never said that , we don't know What he exactly said but we know having cap space was part of it . Th pitch was probably more about how they would build a competitive team

the pitch was probably a brinks truck with some pie in the sky hopes and dreams. knicks aren't gonna field a competitive team in the near future unless they fully commit to tanking a season.
