and if you want to be real, like really real and honest, being a spitter is overrated as a skill. spitting braggodcious bars is relatively not hard to do at all. And its something alot of rappers can do if they focus their style of rap on it.

its much easier to just flow to an easy-to-ride hot beat.

the irony is, yall in here riding hard for 8ball & mjg, who a str8 rappers but arent good enough to be in the lyrical miracle category and at the same time, didnt really have the jams like that either.

meanwhille philly gave you BOTH the lyrics and the jams. this was never a city that focused on just lyrics. you always had to have style, flavor, substance and the tracks. this whole idea that philly is on some lyrical miralce chit is just something yall came up with, without even knowing about philly hip-hop. chit is corny.

I get rooting for Philly, but come on. MJG by himself covered the gamut of everything in an MC from storytelling to the club to even doing a song for the ladies with "That Girl". He even has some socially conscious content. There's not a base that MJG didn't cover.

:russ: at "Dreams and Nightmares" being bigger than any song that came out of Memphis. "Stay Fly">>>>>>
Beans was one of the best MCs in the game and one point. MJG was never regarded as that. Matter fact a lot of people think 8ball is better

But yea I stand by the statement that Dreams and Nightmares was bigger than any song out of Memphis. Stay Fly was a classic song but Dreams and Nightmares is iconic. Almost 10 years later I still hear it pretty often. I was at a wedding last year when the bride and groom walked out to it at the reception. The Eagles played it before the Super Bowl. Its one of the most classic songs of the past decade and it was just the intro

which is why it always kills me how these obsessed with lyrical miracle nikkas on this site and others think its such a hard to achieve skill or feat.

Like bruh if you want to be real alot of people do that as you said when they become rappers. Lets take it further, everyone who was inspired to be a rapper wrote shyt like a spitter. Hence why you got nikkas who arent even rappers that be spitting like that.
not to take away from spitters or lyricist like that, but this is why i dont judge who the better rapper is simply off that feat i take into account the whole package(pause:dame:) or see it as the end all be all.
Why is that lyrical miracle shyt even being brought up in this thread?
:heh:

The best MCs from Philly like Beans, Black Thought and Freeway always had a lot of depth in their rhymes and were versatile. Meek ain’t never been a super lyrical nikka. Even Will Smith was was a dope storyteller and gave us the best summer anthem ever. Matter fact even Cassidy got his name off club bangers. Y’all just be saying shyt to say it

lol @ "i heard this more in the mainstream".
GO OUTSIDE SLACKER.
you dudes in here voting memphis because they made goofy horrorcore music that you can play in your lonely bedrooms at night.

of course you heard it more in the mainstream than the meek song.
the meek song wasnt a single. it was the intro.

the "lyrical miracle" nonsense is some tag that they gave to philly because they can really rap, but dont have machines behind them.

so if you can rap really well, but your music isnt all over TV/radio, then apparently that means that youre automatically just a rippity-rapper that cant make tracks.

these dudes dont even know any music by most of the rappers that theyre classifying as lyrical miracles. most of these dudes prolly cant even name any names. just following the crowd - on the internet of all places.

worst of all, theres no logical explanation for these poll results, and these slackers know it.:mjlol:
