Well, it got a video shortly after the album dropped.

You calling me disconnected and you're in here trying to prop up "Dreams And Nightmares" to "Juicy".

whats wrong with that?

both are "rags to riches" types of songs, and D&N for its time at least, was MUCH bigger than juicy......again, for its time.

Juicy was a hit but it was nowhere near as big(no pun) as its made out to be in hindsight.

And that's where the comparison stops. Other than that, Meek's intro is nowhere near as culturally impactful as "Juicy". And you can't compare a hit now to something that was a hit in 1994/1995 or even 2005. Streaming numbers isn't the same as someone actually buying the song.

i wasnt even thinking about numbers. and you already know i dont give a dam about streams.

juicy wasnt even the biggest bad boy single at the time. craig mack had the bigger record.

the idea of juicy being some sort of all-time holy grail song, didnt become a thing until puff started campaigning for it 8 year later on "making the band".

biggie himself didnt really take off like that until '95 with "big poppa" and later "one more chance".

D&N was more impactful than juicy in '94 by far.
only argument you can counter with is that D&N came out in a far weaker era.

Philly
If y'all wanna vibe, Memphis

If you wanna hear bars, Philly

Philly has been relevant since the 80s in rap

Gangsta rap started in philly

Philly was prominent in Rocafella & Ruff Ryders

And we got bytches that spit too from Bahamadia to Jade to Eve to Charli Baltimore, etc...

Our old school rappers like Steady B, Cool C, Schoolly D and Will Smith are legendary

A lot of Philly cats have good bars but subpar albums….

Cassidy is definitely one of em, Gillie as well.

Memphis off the strength of

Project Pat, who is your favorite rappers fav rapper. Gucci Mane is my favorite rapper and Pat is his.

I’m glad that he’s preacher now
