no wayI heard this more in the mainstream than that Meek song
No it isn’t dude not even close
D&N was never a single it’s a song that blew up in the culture without being pushed as a single. It was the intro to Meek’s album. It has been played at every function from 2011 to this day. It’s a song everyone knows the words to and causes a shift in energy when played. At this point is one of the bigger anthems we’ve seen and longest lasting.
Not only that but it has inspired copy cats in its format.
its much easier to just flow to an easy-to-ride hot beat.
the irony is, yall in here riding hard for 8ball & mjg, who a str8 rappers but arent good enough to be in the lyrical miracle category and at the same time, didnt really have the jams like that either.
meanwhille philly gave you BOTH the lyrics and the jams. this was never a city that focused on just lyrics. you always had to have style, flavor, substance and the tracks. this whole idea that philly is on some lyrical miralce chit is just something yall came up with, without even knowing about philly hip-hop. chit is corny.
You dumbass nikkas strawmanningWhy is that lyrical miracle shyt even being brought up in this thread?
The best MCs from Philly like Beans, Black Thought and Freeway always had a lot of depth in their rhymes and were versatile. Meek ain’t never been a super lyrical nikka. Even Will Smith was was a dope storyteller and gave us the best summer anthem ever. Matter fact even Cassidy got his name off club bangers. Y’all just be saying shyt to say it

It wasn’t meant to be a single it was the intro the word of mouth/reception of the song was so strong he took it further.Breh, I know what "Dreams & Nightmares" is and it might not be a single in the traditional sense, but they released a video for the song not long after the album dropped and I think it was used in trailers for Creed. That song was 2012, not 2011. And it being played at "every function" is null and void. People still line dance to "Wobble" and "Cupid Shuffle" at wedding receptions and barbecues and those songs inspired all kinds of copycat songs in the same format.
It wasn’t meant to be a single it was the intro the word of mouth/reception of the song was so strong he took it further.
Creed didn’t come out until 2015 the song was already classic then.
Bringing up goofy dance songs and comparing it to a rags to riches anthem like D&N is just wrong. D&N is closer to a Juicy than Wobble.
No offense breh you sound disconnected to say Stay Fly was bigger or to minimize the impact of a song that bumped 8 straight years at functions c’mon man
Yes I read it. The poster you were responding to was saying Philly rappers overall are nicer lyrically. You responded with the lyrical miracle tag. We all know what the lyric miracle thing on the coli means. Someone like Beans or Black Thought both are nice lyrically but would never be mistaken for being on that lyrical miracle shyt we laugh at on this siteYou dumbass nikkas strawmanning
Did you even read or follow the thread of post I was responding to?
