There’s reason to believe a large sum of people won’t be able to land one until Spring of next year.

and that’s assuming we don’t have a national lockdown. With how innovative and fun the system is during this abnormal period of our lives, I wouldn’t call it desperation. That seems a little negative.

Everything you said is why there’s a desperation, probably more so than with the older systems. I get it. I tried to buy one the other day and it was sold out as soon as they made it available. I’m sure most people will still be on PlayStation 4 though so that need for escapism and interaction with others in that way will still be available to them without a PS5.

I stopped playing because a lot of the games seem too much like interactive movies or simulation now. At some point i was only into sports game but then you realize they are selling you the same stupid game every year with updated rosters. That's fukking bs.

I still enjoy playing fighting games or sports games when hanging out though.

Gaming is escapism into a substitute world and if you actually had it going on like that with a really entertaining in the flesh life you wouldn't be looking that way to provide what you need but can't get ordinarily because you'd be doing it.

Its quite similar to porn in that sense in that its a vicarious, cucked experience where your imagination fills in the gaps.

Look at the genre of games you play most and discover the need it scratches:

FPS = vent for suppressed anger probably due to having to conform in a life you don't like to pay the bills and having no other way to safely express the energy. The rest follow in similar veins.

Not dissing anyone but you can take it how you want because it is what it is. Proof:

You wake up tomorrow with a 50 billion, free and clear in your bank account. You wouldn't think "I'll race virtual sports cars around a screen". No, you'd buy some and do it in real life around a beautiful place you want to see. Why FPS when you can put your real world skills to the test and get the whole team strapped with Paintball guns in a specially designed place arranged like the set pieces in games.
