In that other thread you said you're 26, meaning you were 8 years old when "Mario 64" came out.

In other words you weren't even old enough to have any first hand knowledge of it's impact, influence, or any aspect of it's history.

So....what are you doing man? This isn't an argument you can win. It's basically impossible.

Fred.

:yawn:You posted like I was still in pampers. And I was 9  Mario64 is overrated to me. End of subject.

Metacritic is a really good tool cause it gives averages instead of one review...but the shyt ain't gospel tho and if Ur interested in a game it's best to just try it and see how u feel about it...so..I think it's useful but not end all be all..that said...nikkas really just need to embrace that The Order is not a really good game...or atleast that's the way it's view by the majority..

Don't ask me...I ain't none of these review websites. However, I can bet money that a lot of these reviews are nostalgic because all of these games were on previous consoles. There isnt really anything new to review....scores won't change much. Now the technical issues should have been projected more in the reviews or maybe these reviews didnt really put too much into these issues because once again...nostalgia. Also, even if points would be deducted for the bugs, these are still critically acclaimed halo games.
I honestly dont think they should review remasters as a new game...they should review based on the translation...ive seen games that were certified classics get lower ratings than their initial rating cause some dumb ass new jack reviewed it like it was a new game and held it to new standards..shyt aint right...its the reason why the Resident Evil Remake Remaster got a low rating on Gamespot and it initially got 9's across the board when it came out...that shyt aint fair...at all...

Metacritic has too much power over people. If you don't play games if they don't reach some random number on metacritic that's just fukking silly.

Nothing wrong with reading a few reviews. But to let it predetermine your taste is just :francis:
Games are too expensive to waste $60 on some bs. Metacritic is just a general consensus gathered from reviews. It doesn't influence my purchase but for the common gamer it should hold some weight.

It's a great game, top 10 last year
yup...problem is people think shyt like a 79 or 80 score is bad...some CLASSIC games in the past have gotten scores like that...Gamespot was notorious for giving great games scores like that...they gave Silent Hill 2 a damn 7.7....lol..and that's pretty much the greatest survival horror game ever made..

u couldnt have been 9 if u 26 now...him saying u was 8 is based on u turning 27 this year...if u was 9...u would be turning 28 this year...so if u was 9 when u played Mario 64...u played it a year late...and that would explain u not getting the impact ...

9, 10, whatever, is not old enough to speak on it....and it definitely ain't old enough to disagree with me, since I was 19 when the game came out. I own gaming magazines older than dude.

I feel u..lol..I think it still depends on Ur upbringing and how perceptive u are...but a damn 9 year old def aint got the perception a teenager has so u def right about that...dude already proved he had no clue of the impact that game had...anyone who was in their teens at that time recognized how impactful that game was...damn I feel old I remember that era like it was yesterday...lol...it literally feels like a year ago to me..

Mario 64 was the evolution of platforms to the 3D space. A tech demo? No that game was revolutionary. I don't really remember games having a totally user controllable camera in a 3D space like that before that game. Hell Nintendo put buttons on the controller dedicated to camera controls probably for that game.

I agree bro...I don't know if Ur directing this towards me or just expanding on what I said but dude who called Mario 64 a tech demo was straight up trippin....and clearly doesn't remember the game's impact...

I was only 12 when that game came out and understood the impact immediately. Do people even remember when the whole gaming world was flipping its shyt with the expected "Mario 128" was being shown? I remember people losing their mind when that shyt was being shown and then had some of its concepts thrown onto Mario Galaxy.

Sunshine was just a little piece to throw to the Mario fans, it is in no way, shape or form fukking with Mario 64 or the Galaxy Games. From what I remember Miyamoto wasn't even as involved with Sunshine.

Religion is dumb b
It's not metacritic, it's the fact these ratings are the end all be all in people's mind. Most games I want I just make sure they got a demo so I can try it myself. If they not doing a demo, quite frankly they ain't too confident in letting people play before they shell out money
