If a museum bought it... Same difference. Nothing changed.

Thank you for saying this.

As I understand it, whomever buys this album JUST CAN'T SELL IT for 88 years. That is strange, yes.

But if somebody did buy it and let you hear it, that would be a cool muthafucca, wouldn't it?? That's the point!
A person who buys this would be some supreme baller who wants the status of being the only person with the rights
to this Wu-Tang album.

As said here, museums by this kinda chit all the time. It would be ILL AS FUCC for your local art museum to buy this, yo!
They have a press conference and be like "This is the final Wu-Tang Clan album, there is one copy, and we have
acquired it. It is 74:45 long, and we will play it here every Tuesday night at 7pm..."

I think that is tight.

Man....fukk that.

The only reason they're in a position to do this is because fans supported them. It's not like they became successful completely independent of the people criticizing them.

I can't speak for anyone else in this thread, but I had all their shyt...."36 Chambers", "Tical", "OB4CL", "Ironman", etc. day 1. Skipped school to cop it, rain, snow storms, 100 degrees. Like a fukking mail man.

So the "it's theirs" logic is pointless. It would be like if you gave me money to start a restaurant, it blew up, and then one day I told you "ok, you can't eat here any more, until 88 years pass". Of course I could do that, since it's my restaurant....but the audacity....the blatant disrespect is :mindblown: when the shyt wouldn't even exist without your help.

Fred.

I understand RZA is trying to think outside the box, but sometimes the shyt just becomes to much. Sometimes being overly strategic & meticulous can come off as retarded.

Something not right spiritually with the RZA man...you don't use music for some MORBID SHYT like this. You don't do that to your fan base. Meth is on point with his words, tho. Nikka don't know my timeline, only GOD does...I'll live till three hundred and play this at a club on throwback night at age 232 nikka, real talk. Don't time people's lives out wit YA art, or else it's fuk YA art:camby:
Rza just gave the fan base his art and only a handful of cats actually bought it. You know, the Wu-tang album that just got released.

People in here complaining that Rza holding out. This one copy album is a compilation of songs that civalringz collected over the years. Rza came on board later to make it official. If they just threw it out for free or a quick sale it would have got about as much shine as the Chamber Music joint. The only reason this one is getting so much media coverage is because of the one album concept. And as has already been stated, the 88 year clause is simply for commercial sale of the album, it doesnt necessarily mean the album will never be heard for 88 years. It also doesn't mean that there is a shortage of available Wu music, especially since they just put out an album.

But if yall are really hungry for some Wu that you haven't heard, I'm sure you can find some Mathematics or Bronze Nazareth joints that slipped by. Unless of course you are @Billy Ocean, in which case you have probably heard them all

Wu-Tang Clan's "Once Upon A Time In Shaolin" album is being sold through Paddle8.

The Wu-Tang Clan’s Once Upon A Time In Shaolinalbum was seized by customs agents at New York’s JFK Airport, according to Page Six.

The site says Cilvaringz said he brought the album with him to the United States and that when he arrived in New York Sunday (March 1), the box holding the album was detained for more than three hours because he forgot the key and no one could confirm the contents of the box.

The TSA’s “highest-strength scanner” was eventually used and Cilvarinz and RZA recounted the story at MoMA PS1 at an event hosted by Paddle8, which is auctioning the album.
