MJ has written some his OWN biggest hits

Shake Your Body (Down to the ground)-Co-written with brother Randy
Don't Stop Till You Get Enough
Working Day And Night
Beat It
Billie Jean
Wanna Be Startin Something
Bad
The Way You Make Me Feel
Speed Demon
Another Part Of Me
Dirty Diana
Leave Me Alone
Black Or White
Jam

Hell he wrote most of the Bad album. Which is one of only two albums in history to have FIVE singles chart at number 1 (4 of which were written by Jackson)

He co-produced or produced much of his work as well, including having a big feud with Jones over not getting production credit for Billie Jean. Jackson almost vowed to not ever again work with Quincy again he felt so strongly about that.

So let's not even slight MJ like he was drake or somebody, MJ's pen game and ear for music was immaculate. That boy was a musical genius since he was 11 years old.

He wrote and produced 'Stranger in Moscow' 'Earth Song' (History Album) and 'Who is it' (Dangerous Album) and they are all certified classics to me. Dude was really nice with it beyond the stage presence

mike had to learn to write...prince was writing out the gate..for himself n his side groups..

Kinda hard for Mike to write out the gate since he was a professional recording artist since he was 5 years old.

Just realized Prince removed his shyt from Spotify. fukk him. How does this dude plan on gaining new fans? You can't hear his shyt outside of the random song on the radio. Maybe he just doesn't care anymore.

yo please just change the title to the official MJ thread.... there's stories for days

Pharrell Williams revealed to Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday night that he thought someone was playing a joke on him when he received a call from Michael Jackson

The ageless singer told Kimmel his people had to force him to take the call a third time: 'So I pick up the phone and he's like ''Hello, how are you? It's Michael [crunch crunch crunch].''

'He was eating popcorn in my ear and that's when I knew it was him.

'So Justin is used to it at this point, this is Justin ''Big Pop Star'' Timberlake and I'm like, ''Dude, it's Michael on the phone and he's eating popcorn in my ear.'''

The singer revealed Michael, pictured here in 2002, turned down eight songs Pharrell had created for him

Realizing he had just hung up on a legend, the Get Lucky singer tried to make things right, but to his disappointment it was Justin that Michael really wanted to talk about.

'I'm like, ''I'm such a huge fan,'' and he's like ''How's it going with Justin, is he good?''' :mjlol:

After Pharrell responded 'Yes sir,' the Billie Jean singer said: 'That's good, that's amazing. Cool. Well, have a good time, see you later.'

'We had several meetings the first meeting was weird. Chad and I, Chad my partner, wrote like eight songs for him and his manager heard them - and this was right around the time of Superthug by N.O.R.E - and his manger was like ''Man, this isn't what Michael wants, Michael wants Superthug' :wow:, and I was kind of like [pulls a quizzical face] ''So this is not going to happen.''

I think for the first time ever, Nas talked about Michael Jackson calling him on the phone one day. :ohhh: (mike just calling up rap nikkas and talking to them... asking for hard ass beats.. MJ was a hip hop stan :blessed: )

“I don’t care who you are, you’re never ready to hear that Michael Jackson is on the phone. I don’t care how it goes, no one is ready to handle that shyt. He’s a spirit, he’s not a man. That was a spirit on the phone.”

starts talking about mike about 20:30

Meet the Mystery Man Who Rapped on Michael Jackson's 'Black or White'

The story of how Bottrell became, in a way, one of the most popular rappers of the 90s started because "Black or White," a song he had co-written and was producing with Jackson, had a big hole in the middle. "After the first few days of working on it, we really had the core of the song, the verses, the chorus, and Michael sang it really early on," he told me. "All we had was this big gaping middle section, that sort of just sat that was and on our minds for many months."

The idea for the rap popped into Bottrell's head one morning while he was at home, with lyrics inspired by the themes Jackson had covered in his parts of the song. Bottrell recorded a version of the rap which he intended to serve as a temporary filler and played it to Jackson. "He just loved it," Botrell told me.

Bottrell's initial plan with the rap was to get an actual rapper to record over his part, and suggested to Jackson that they use LL Cool J or Heavy D, who were both in the studio working on other tracks for the album.

Jackson, however, insisted that they use Bottrell's recording, something the producer told me he wasn't entirely comfortable with. "I'm, you know, a songwriter and record producer," he said. "I'm not a rapper, and I did not intend to be a white guy who's rapping on there."

But Jackson insisted—possibly, Bottrell thinks, because he's white and not a rapper. "The fact that I'm white and I did that rap kind of speaks to the content of the song. So in his mind, it all came together."

He also explained that, when the song had first been released, he had to make an edited version with the rap cut out because mainstream radio stations had no-rap policies and wouldn't play the song otherwise. "I believe this record might have opened some doors," he explained. "It's always a process, right? I think it changed over the next two years, very quickly."

When I suggested that this might mean that Bottrell might be, without realizing it, one of the most influential rappers of all time, he cut me off with a laugh. "Stop." he said. "No. Don't even go there."

Yoooo I remember watching that shyt live. Mom and Pops let us stay up late to watch MJ. He tore that shyt straight the fukk up. Nobody in the house said shyt afterwards....we were like:ohhh: Moms was legit crying and shyt. I totally forgot about that until I watched this clip. Salute breh.

The fukked up thing is that he didn't even win that night. After his historic and record setting Grammy wins for Thriller. He was nominated in four categories for Bad and after performing sat in the front row and didn't win shyt. He was devastated for weeks...
