In his own words:

Dre likes to direct artists to realize his vision whereas Mike is the dude who comes to table strapped with concepts like this:

And directs the producers to realize his vision, down to singing the melodies note by note and beatboxing the percussion as well as tweaking the final mix. Can you see the problem here? Really, what is Dre gonna school MJ on about making a hit? Also know that MJ is good behind the boards (he produced most of History dolo) which is why Teddys work with him was so much more complex due to to MJs input/vision.

Remember that MJ passed on these Neptunes beats/concepts that were given to Timberlake/Usher:

Usher – 8721 (2001)
– U Don’t Have To Call
– I Don’t Know

Justin Timberlake – Justified (2002)
– Senorita
– Take It From Here
– Let’s Take A Ride
– Last Night
– Nothin’ Else

Because he wanted something like
full
instead! Janet gives you a hint of what could've been:

Its the same reason why the Dre and Pac beef was inevitable because Pac believed in the energy of the first take being the most important whilst Dre wanted it redone again and again till he was happy that it was good enough for his vault. Totally different workflows in the studio from totally different people who are used to getting their own way and already have a track record which proves their formula works so it is what it is....

Am I a CAC? Because I think that Dr Dre isn’t as talented a producer as Teddy Riley? nikka are u fukking serious? Ur love for Dre really fried ur fukkin brain. Dre is more a traditional producer than a beat maker which is why I feel it’s a comparison in the first place. But Teddy Riley is a BETTER traditional producer than Dre. Because he has more in his arsenal. I dont think Hip Hop is lower than shyt. Which is WHY I value cats like Preemo as HIP HOP producers more than Dre. I’m tired of u wit this shyt fam. Not EVERYBODY suck off Dre like u do. He’s one of the GOATS but he ain’t THE GOAT to me. U act like u the only muthafukka who deal with music.

Damn brehs, the above post and the original post it was addressing pretty much summarizes what your race or sexual orientation would be if you disagree with your average Coli Poster, you're unequivocally either white or a black homosexual. :pachaha:

Or Jimmy/Terry
Or The Neptunes

all of these producers can also write and actually play instruments and have cross genre success (which Dre does not). Now some could say “look at what he did with Gwen” but “Rich Girl” was already a well known song that he jacked.

shyt, he was jacking beats in the Wreckin Crew days. “Before You Turn Off the Lights” has a heavy unchopped sample all over it.

Where are the large parcels of original shyt Dre has done? When you have access to Storch, Mike Elizondo, Daz and Mel Man, the process gets way easier. But I’m not going to put undue praise when he would literally sample the shyt out of records and not even chop it up like Jay Dee or Primo would take the time to do.

Dre’s consistency was never there and Pac himself called him out on taking too long to do even one track. Meanwhile, Daz and Quik were under the same umbrella and cranking out more shyt. I’ll give Dre credit for being a great mixer and probably balancing out the vibe in the studio and people respecting him enough to organize everything, but pound for pound, he can’t see Teddy and would absolutely get washed by Babyface.

These are dudes who are beatmakers and producers + can mix.

If we are going to judge these producers it has to be fair and on purely identifiable solo work. Can’t only praise Timbo during the Timberlake era when Danja made that project what it was.

At least when you get a Teddy track or a Jimmy/Terry track, you know there wasn’t other people in there helping out and not getting credit until after the fact when the truth comes out on Dub CNN.

I agree with some of what you posted, but LOL at dismissing producers for having co-producers when you are putting actual production duos against producers who weren't duos.

Downplaying Dre and in this case Timbaland to big up The Neptunes and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis is the same thing dude was doing when he put down Teddy Riley to big up Dre.

Personally, I got Quincy Jones (who had a team of people working with him as well) and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis in an entirely different tier of producer. They truly are GOAT tier producers. Then its Riley, Dre, Timbaland, and The Neptunes. In that order in regard to this discussion.

Mike never wanted to give anyone publishing. LOL!!!

Quincy Jones said Mike didn't want to pay the session players on the Thriller and Bad albums. He said he had to force him to pay those dudes. They barely wanted to pay Quincy, lol.
When you're the GOAT, everything is allowed :yeshrug:

In terms of Dre vs Teddy, I may have to re-think my position given how huge Chronic and Doggystyle were in the culture and not just Hip Hop, but Black culture and American culture period. Not only that, but Dre's hand in NWA and the artists who helped to become superstars. No slight against Teddy Riley, I'm just sayin

Dre and Eazy are idiots.... They took 0% of nothing over a rare MJ sample approval AND 6 more MJ records that would have lived on FOREVER... either way they'd have gotten 0%.. Might as well take the legendary move

AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, ESTABLISH A WORKING RELATIONSHIP
