The 718
maybe legal precedents can get set by a sample use, that allows a parent company to usurp publishing, and Michael saw that coming,

so he deaded it by setting conditions that no cat with nuts would agree to...
That's the main reason RZA doesn't sample much anymore. When he realized how much labels were screwing the original artists out of sample royalties he felt guilty.

That's also why George Clinton did so much work with west coast cats and released sample CDs. Because he wasn't getting shyt off his samples thanks to Bridgeport's crooked ass CEO

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
that has nothing to do with what im saying. youre missing the point because your feelings are in the way.

and chit, i spent more time around that group than i did kids my own age back then.

and since you want to quote vlad interviews, why dont you pull up what lord jamar had to say??

:sas1:
Lord Jamar the also the same one who said that Pac ain’t a great songwriter, so there’s that. Lord Jamar has a lot of hot takes that plenty of people in his age group disagree with. And lets get it straight. U talkin like u the only one who mainly hung around older cats. Bottom line. MJ was that nikka in ALL of the 80s and saying anything different is dumb goofy shyt.

im not swearing by lord jamar. im simply responding to you wanting to pull up some Vlad TV quotes like its gospel. and jamar was on point with what he said. i was on record stating all of that on here before him, btw.

i never claimed to be the only person hanging around older cats. it aint even about me. im just pointing out clear ass examples. the problem here is that yall just didnt become cognizant of the mike jokes in the '90s, so you assume that it started then. in reality, hes been the butt of countless jokes since the '80s. cuz like i said in my previous post in regards to the laughing stock argument; simple common sense should do the math for you once you take off your nostalgia shades. and if it still doesnt once you take the shades off, then that says more about you than anything else.

as for the music thing, its no secret that mike lost alot of OG fans when he went full-on pop with thriller & such. you really think oldheads of the more thurl variety who came up on soul music(let alone the ones who got into hip-hop), were into "beat it", the goofy wardrobe, the monkey fascination, the skin bleaching, the zesty videos, etc etc etc etc etc???

you think moonwalker and all that type chit was for them or us?? im gonna give you one last chance to put some actual thought into this, before i file you in the "looking funny in the light" drawer.

i'll give you a minute to piece your thoughts together.:sas2:

And gained BILLIONS more. Son what the fukk are u talking about? Honestly. Who are these “old heads” that had a problem with Thriller? Muthafukkas who only cared about Motown? I’m not even gonna get into this shyt with u because it’s fukking literally one of the stupidest arguments I ever engaged in. I won’t even be going back n forth about it anymore. U have zero facts to back this shyt up. I don’t know who the fukk YOU was hanging with but I ain’t met a single damn person in life old or young shytting on Thriller Michael Jackson. Some people may PREFER the Off The Wall album. shyt. I PREFER the Off The Wall album. But u take shyt TOO far fam. And try to pass them crazy ass hot takes off as facts and this is where u end up looking like an ass fam. Lol. Then. This also is supposed to support the fact that it would’ve been a BAD idea for Dre to produce for MJ in 91. U are fukking nuts bruh. lol

well for starters, michael jackson was POP. he was years removed from being an r&b artist at that point.

so AGAIN, youre not qualified for this. you can spin it and come up with your own rebuttal tag line with the "u out your element here" bullchit all you want. the difference is, when i say it, its real. not just a tag line. this simply aint your lane bro. you steady trippin yourself up all thru this thread.

im not saying mike wasnt respected. at the end of the day, hes still michael jackson. but the more hip side of his O.G. fanbase was long gone by this point. i see youre having a meltdown right now. i guess i just crushed your childhood memories.

Dre and Eazy are idiots.... They took 0% of nothing over a rare MJ sample approval AND 6 more MJ records that would have lived on FOREVER... either way they'd have gotten 0%.. Might as well take the legendary move

Don't think it's been mentioned in this thread but with Dre only being 24-25 years old and most likely being under a management contract, there might have been others in Dre's ears telling him not to do it because they wouldn't make any money off of Dre's work.
