IMO DRE SHOULDA DID IT

OR AT LEAST NEGOTIATED THE USE OF 3-4 SAMPLES TOTAL

I’m going back and forth on it....

On one hand...its MICHAEL fukkING JACKSON. Producing on his album is God Tier shyt.

But on the other hand...if you ain’t getting paid for work you do then thats sucka shyt.

"Butterflies" was about as close to a Dre produced MJ song as we're going to get. It has this Dre/Storch circa 2001 vibe to it.

You think so? Imo it has that Phily/Detroit soul vibe with the off rhythm kick and sloppy bassline. I did not get a Dre vibe at all. Hmm that is an interesting take.

breh if you were talking about some savvy producer I’d agree, we talking about the nikka that got jerked back to back from eazy e and didn’t learn his lesson and ran away from his stake on death row. Turning down MJ was probably the only thing left for dre to do to feel like he had any testicles. He should gave mike the beats

Those drums sound like the drums Dre was using during that era. The kicks, snares and pattern. I would liken them to Snoop's "Just Dippin" or "True Lies".

LMAO @ no publishing but 1991 Michael Jackson could get whatever the fukk he wanted. And to keep it 100, Teddy was putting out better, sample-free shyt than Dre.

Now, I’m sure people will be like :stopitslime: but Teddy created a wave that damn near EVERYONE jumped on during the New Jack era, including the biggest artists ever.

This.

It's why I'm kind of dumbfounded as to how Dre working with MJ would've guaranteed him GOAT status. Teddy created classics with MJ and people STILL sleep on him as a producer. Rodney Jerkins has songs with Mike and he's more disrespected than respected as a producer.
