Guys were only guarding out to about 18 feet when Jordan came in the league, the paint was packed, and teams would shovel the ball into the post players. Players didn’t have to cover anywhere near the same amount of space on defense. Guys who were 6’8 were power forwards, now those guys are point guards who are moving exponentially more.
I watch the games and don’t see any defensive player other than a few that’s out there doing anything exceptional to prevent the barrage of 3’s being shot. You are caught up in the theory of today’s game. The NBA is a lick for dudes these days. Fukk being the best and dominating, the real W is to get to the bag as long as possible.

48 minutes in today's NBA is not the same as it was back when Jordan played. So talking about load management without that context in mind is disingenuous to me.
Why do fans and former players think they know better than the people who are actually playing these games :mindblown: and a lot of these decisions are made by the teams and not the players themselves

Then will get on the sports shows and say "you should've sat him" when injuries become worse. You can't have it both ways

It’s simple, former players went all out to please the paying fans juxtapose to new NBA where pleasing the paying fans is last on the agenda behind TV partners, Streaming partners, Advertisers, sponsors, getting the bag, player brands, social media, load management.

The paying fans and competitive spirit gets put on the back burner and the excuse is preventing injury

Should we discuss it's exactly why LeBron loudly proclaimed last year his goal was to do the same then threw that plan in the bushes within a month :dead:
The thing with LeBron is he is always conscious of the things that Mike and Bean did to uplift the game but his mentality is to always find a way to cut corners and avoid the grind.

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
He’s been saying tbis for the last 30 years tho…

I remember watching VHS tapes as a kid and Mike was talking about how important it was for him to play every game because he understood that that might be a kid one chance to see him play live.

Exactly. Jordan been on this time. Dude just has a different mentality. They used to ask him why’d he’d always be in suits and shyt just coming down from his hotel or going up. Like wtf you in a three-piece suit coming down to the lobby :dahell:?

He said for some people, it’s going to be the only time in their life they get to see ā€œMichael Jordan,ā€ so he wanted to live up to that.

Dude is one of one. :wow:

Once again, NBA discussions devolve into the same old circle jerk discussions. :russ:

At what point do we look at management decisions and they being the reason for this in the first place instead of the blaming the players? Because most NBA fans are lazy as fukk and reach for the lowest hanging fruit which are the players.

Trash as usual . Pages in and no one is talking about the suits ruining sports

Yea man exactly.

And when I actually got to see him hoop, his last year in Washington, he legit had on his old school North Carolina shorts underneath his playing shorts. He understood the moment and how polarizing he was. Mike did not want to give anyone a reason to call him soft. His era was not built like that.

I have never seen a league whose suits get off scott free by their fans for the shytty decisions they make more than dumb ass NBA fans.

This thread is a clear example of how low tier their fans are. Barely a mention of Silver and company. NFL and MLB fans would have 3 pages worth of Goodell and Manfredi slander by now.

Yall dumb as fukk and can’t help yourselves
