In the mid 90's , Bobbito of Bobbito and Strech fame used to have a column called "Soundcheck" where he used to play songs for celebs and get their feedback. Well, Bobbito plays MJ a Rakim song and...:

I doubt it. Part of the reason why, as much as I respect him as a legend and the greatest NBA player of all time, I don't fvck with Mike. He couldn't care less about Black Americans and the fact that we are the biggest consumers of his clothing and sneakers.

Here people go again, being mad at MJ like he's done something wrong.

LOL @ Rakim being the MJ of rap, he's more like a Charles Barkley.

I'd give that to Pac easily

This interview probably was done in the early part of the mid 90's. Ra was still considered the Zenith of rapping at that point. Rap excellence.

He's from the south bruh & grew up in the 70's & 80's that's why.

I see what you're saying but there's a bunch of ballers that played with Mike, round his age, that love hip hop music. I just find it funny that his sneakers is huge in our culture and it's history and that he doesn't even fvck with the music at all.
