Steph is the first guy to sign two contracts over 200 million. A max contract is four years and used to be as high as six ten years ago and before that seven.
Some of these contracts don’t even have NTC so expect these guys to get moved if it doesn’t work out also because of these max contracts an elite team will only be elite at max two seasons before the Tax kills them hence why Lebron was only on the Heat for four years and KD on the Warriors for three.
Moving forward as an elite player once you get your first big money it will be best to maintain flexibility in order to win more especially if you can move to a team still full of guys that got drafted to a team because they cost less to re-sign

He's the key to their championship aspirations, so they had no other choice but to overpay and keep him. They're winning the championship if he becomes the #2/1b option that they think that he can be. Murray is better suited as the #3 until he can prove that he can be consistent.
