I wonder if part of that has to do with him possibly knowing he can't be that player anymore with his back history. Either way he's in a great spot for him. He's still young and with the salary cap situation he'll probably get a chance for more individual shine eventually. Can't see them being able to keep him and Gordon when that time comes.

Yeah he mentioned that he probably wont play more than like 10 years. He's paid and hes winning, so he's probably over whatever individual goals he had.

The Bubble playoffs after game 4
I don’t think that postgame interview represented some seismic shift. (Not like how things changed for Kuminga after his comments earlier this year.) MPJ has never been glued to the bench in the way that Bol Bol has everywhere he’s played. Malone sometimes struggles playing young’s guys to his detriment (this has changed a bit to his credit) but I don’t think that was the case necessarily with MPJ. I think the Nuggets had been (and to some degree still are) cautious around managing MPJ’s injuries. I think MPJ getting healthy, being smart, maturing emotionally, developing his game, and buying in is what has been the difference for him. Not some interview where he made some comments about his role and the team’s playing style after a playoff loss in his first year of actually playing. What’s ironic is that the team’s playing style hasn’t changed much—still heavy dose of two man game from Murray and Jokic—but the Nuggets have found the right pieces and they’ve bought in.

Dude has three more years on this terrible contract too. He had the series of his life in round one and came back to reality in round two.

He's solid but he's all offense. So when he shot isn't falling he's almost useless. A 6'10 decoy
