Wow okay... I actually know him personally, but this is good to know I guess..
you know him personally. If you get a chance can you ask him why he felt the need to try to paint Sean Taylor like a thug. Why he felt the need to go on PTI and claim that he wasn't surprised this man was murdered in his home trying to protect his family?
This board is a niche way to discuss sports in no way is it a fair representation of how people talk sports
The article is about about black people and analytics on a site that discuss race in sports
So, no it's not a generalization when that was the confines of the article
This isn't a niche forum about sports, its pretty generalist. I've talked to blacks who know advanced metrics about bball and football and never once did anyone look at that person as crazy or disregard it totally. Like I said before typically its used as an aid in a argument, not as the sole argument as some stat nerds would prefer. So trying to invalidate facts that black americans do indeed understand and use analytics is false.
On top of that I'll help you out "black people do ___________" is a over generalization.
"_____ people do _________" is always a generalization
Over generalization is a logical fallacy.
I've seen it so much that I am generally weary when someone claims they are being "real" on race and start using over generalizations and don't use nuance
