You just described all drill and most trap rappers.

Damn I came in here just to point this out. Good comment. But this is America there will always be people rapping or singing to get out of the hood. They arent transplants, nor is anyone pushing them, it's a reflection of black americans progressing into burbs. Places like LA where bloods and crips are pretty much dead, places like south central are now 80% hispanics, old boroughs in NY now being hipster spots.
It's not seen on the news, nor talked about, but black folks ARE 'moving on up'. many now living in suburbs and now rapping about 'that' life.
See nothing wrong with it, we're not all from the slums despite popular belief.....yes some of us are college educated and don't gun clap. 90% of people reading this aint never busted a grape, let alone a gun at someone.![]()
It hurts me to admit that me and my friends were brainwashed growing up in the 90s.
lmaoEven "the hood" is better nowadays. Nobody is really starving. People don't do dirt just to get by or survive, they do it to have some discretionary income.
lollmao
clown
is this an insult?lol
tranny fukker
Yes.is this an insult?
O.Yes.

isnt that by default more refreshing? how can we have billions of people, and have these same tired ass experiences?middle-class
*raps about standing in line at whole foods*
*raps about visvim shoes*
*raps about who has the highest mpg instead of biggest rims*

check what barr was talking about. are they going to the burbs or the exburbs? the former is the new slums, and the latter doesnt really exist anymore.i personally don't mind. a lot of black people are moving out the hood and doing better for themselves and look towards music that is a reflection of that
young black kids now care about designer clothes and going to college n shyt and while they enjoy that trap shyt, they don't want to be a part of it. i'd take that over of bunch of chief keefs killing their own people over bullshyt.
the hood is/was cool and still has a place in hip-hop it's just black people can't let JUST the hood define us.
