The problem is America is not good right now. It's a mirage. It's good for certain segments for sure.

The labor and working class of this country has had it's back broken for 30 years straight. That's the base of Democrats and progressives. The only progress made on those fronts have been local. Our progressive representatives in the Federal and State government directly had a hand in dismantling the biggest progressive grass roots campaign since the 60s.

2008-2010 was a wasted chance we may not see for decades. :snoop:

The Dems Should have built a strong populist movement during the 2008-2010 cycle. But instead chose to align themselves with the same old policy insiders and trotted out marginal changes.

The voters can sense something is fukked up, but they don't know what to do about it; that's why every six years into the last two presidencys, they have swung wildly to the other side.

Meanwhile the people that own politicians on both sides keep on winning regardless of which party is in power.

I didn't mention working class in general, but that's part of my point. People came out to give keep as much of a democratic congress in '10, and secure Obama a second term in '12 and he STILL hasn't gone hard for them. People are tired/lost faith and I can't blame them.

Obama shouldve been all over touting how good the country is doing right now, but the candidates purposefully shunned him from their campaigns for no logical reason. His approval rating is inexplicably low cause dude been letting the repubs run the narrative for too long. He's now the Bush of the left. Lost both branches.

Basically this country is going to seesaw for the foreseeable future cause dumbasses don't know what they want.

That aside, there's still nothing for minorities and progressives to rally behind. We voted for him for "hope and change" 6 years later we're still waiting for him to act on it. :scust:

Let's see...not one minority in the picture. :heh:

The shyt that cracks me up is hearing all the time that "Obama has gotten nothing done". I'm like "when did we become a dictatorship?" :skip:

Everytime he wanted to get something done, the Recaclicans and benedict arnold dems have told him no.

At least with a Republican controlled congress, nothing will change since they wouldn't pass shyt he wanted anyway.

Florida aint getting enough attention. They re-elected a criminal and voted against medical marijuana
Right in the first link you just ignored:

:upsetfavre:

Not, they have not. You are the only one who has not provided any source. You are making baseless claims.

Again, let's play with stats.

US economy in total has grown, the wealthy has grown in the US because they were invested in the US and you saw more money inflowing into the American economy as a safe haven to the global meltdown. YOu have rich people moving ot America from all different countries not to mention close to 2% of revenue growth for top earners are due to capital gains (i.e. investment returns). Removing these the trends are in line...you can't say the economy is at a disparity due to investment gains. If I invest in stocks and make 20% return on my investment and you work and get a 2% raise - our income disparity has grown but that doesn't mean you didn't have any recovery.

Again you're failing at read and understanding the statistics...there has been a resurgence in the American economy and it's not just corporations or top of the pyramids.

So how do we expect a man with no Congressional support to pass what he wanted to help? These racists fakkits have shown their ass the entire time he was in office. Even the same ones in his own damn party.

or have elections be Saturday and Sunday

the nation would support this too

You are probably right that this country isnt as left as we thought. Honestly, we also were wrong about how left-leaning Obama is too.

I think it's the makeup of the liberals compared to conservatives - libs usually have better things to do and are less motivated.

This is why progressives lose. You are removed from the reality of the state of the working class and labor in this country. You don't understand how current wages don't stand up to historic rates when adjusted for inflation. You don't understand that while unemployment is down, the quality of work, wages, length of employment and benefits have been reduced significantly. You don't understand the tax rate is disproportionate. You don't understand that wages haven't kept up with the cost of living. You don't understand that the recovery from 2008 was at the expense of the taxpayer, most of whom are working class individuals.

This is why you ignore the data. You measure success the same way a Republican measures success. Congratulations. Enjoy the record corporate profits and high Dow Jones IA.

I used to think so. Then I realized we elected a bunch of blue dogs and Clinton Democrats who were never that bold. We keep overestimating how to the left this country is mentally and institutionally. People still vote based on personality too. It is also time to make election day a national holiday.

or have elections be Saturday and Sunday

the nation would support this too

I also think we overestimate how bright/well-informed the electorate is

C/S making election day a federal holiday or having it on the weekend

The next two years wil be interesting to watch. Will the Dems in Congress be as obstructive as the Republicans were the last six years or will they fold like envelopes? My bet is on the latter.

You're too damn smart to even be asking this question.
