Overrated and underachiever at the same time.

Let me explain:

He was overrated for sure. Especially by Falcons fans. But He also had the talent to accomplish more than he ended up doing. Throw in the years he lost due to the dog-fighting thing and you have shell of what could have been a pretty good career

I still remember the hype heading into sophomore year and him entering the draft.

Heading into his sophomore year I remember reading about his 4.24 40 in ESPN the magazine. He was by far the favorite for the Heisman that year. Bobby Bowden and others expected Vick to dominate in college that year like no one has before. People were like "Imagine what happens when he figures it out?"

Heading into the draft people were saying he could be the "Jordan of the NFL". The only NFL player to ever take a game over that only a great basketball could do in a basketball game. He was hyped that much. And I truly believed it at that time.

i think vick never lived up to his full potential but that 2010 comeback was >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I've never been so excited for a guy's comeback than his that year. Thought it was the beginning of a lock HOF career. He was going to do like Steve Young did once he got his shot in San Fran in his late 20's/early 30s.

*sigh*

Vick never head of ton of weapons, f*ck outta here. He had Roddy for only one year before the prison sentence. Manziel wasn't even clearly the best QB in college last year, I personally thought Bridgewater was a better QB :manny:, not to mention the receivers Manziel had :wow: Manziel's best years are behind him breh. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER VICK IN COLLEGE FB. The man had WR speed, Barry Sander's quicks and Dan Marino's arm. White America can put all the makeup it wants on Manziel's game, there's just too much ugly to cover up :wow:

Most depressing shyt I ever heard is when he said "I would get the playbook the first day and throw it in the trunk" :wow:
Then you see him on the Eagles AFTER a two year bid and looks like an MVP. If he had at least a slightly above average work ethic, he coulda been a hall of famer. End of the day he was just a nikka from Bad Newz, shoulda never gave him that money :manny:

After watching Michael Vick run and pass all over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday night, I realized that once again, I'm living in a city that features the greatest athlete in his sport.

Not that I didn't see this coming, mind you. After all, I was the one who told those insane people who felt Doug Johnson was the better quarterback that they were indeed insane. Vick only needed game time to become the savior of the Atlanta Falcons franchise. How many times must I say I told you so? So far, this is the second time I've said it and when he breaks Brett Favre's record of three straight NFL MVP awards, I'll say it again.

In the late 80's and early 90's, I have to admit that I was envious of Chicago residents. I was jealous of the fact that they were in the same city as Michael Jordan and had a chance to see him play in person if they could get tickets to Chicago Bulls games. During that time, Jordan was the best player in the NBA and I used to wonder what it felt like to watch the best player in the league play.

Then, a funny thing happened. Jordan retired for the first time and that opened the door for Hakeem Olajuwon of the Houston Rockets to be the NBA's greatest player. I was living in Houston when the "torch" was passed from Jordan to Olajuwon from 1993 to 1996, when Jordan returned to the game. I used to be able to go to Rockets games all the time, even when they won the consecutive NBA titles (Rockets fans are like Hawks fans – they're very fickle). Seeing Hakeem dominate the other players in the league was unreal. I saw him score 45 points on David Robinson of the San Antonio Spurs in person and saw him score 40 against the Utah Jazz in a critical playoff game in 1995.

When I watched Olajuwon against Robinson that night, I felt really good. I finally knew how Chicagoans felt – it's nice to watch the league's best player in action. Hakeem ran circles around Big Dave for his 45 points, and despite the fact that Robinson was kind of soft, he was actually a darn good defensive player. Hakeem torched him that night and that's when I knew he was the best player in the NBA.

Now I'm here in the Atlanta metro area and I can witness Vick in all his greatness. I have yet to see him play in person and hopefully I will get that opportunity one day. Yeah, I know Steve McNair or Peyton Manning may win the NFL MVP award this season, but if Vick can stay healthy he will own plenty of those awards. In fact, Vick's hold on the NFL will be like the NBA with Jordan around – everyone knew Jordan was the league MVP every year, but the league decided to give others the award to keep things interesting.

With Vick, he will deserve the NFL's MVP award every year unless the league decides to crown someone else.

It's just a fact. This man rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown just three months after BREAKING HIS LEG. Once again, I told you so.

Vick is the Jordan of the NFL - Jeffery Armstrong

As a Falcons fan who remembers that era, I would say more disappointing than anything, but I wouldn't say most disappointing ever. Even Vick at his best you still only got a glimpse into how good he could've been had he focused and put it all together

2010 Eagles Vick was a top 10 QB all time in terms of talent....I don't care who I offend. I'm not gonna write out a list but that was one of the most dangerous nikkas I've ever seen play football. He toyed with the Redskins that one game, like they was a high school team. If he'd played like that his whole career without getting hurt, he'd broke records.
