Overrated? as far as what. vick lived up to all the hype and thensome. If you were expecting hall of fame passing numbers and championships, then something is wrong with you. Vick did what he was supposed to do. Carry the Falcons to playoffs. Playoff wins- check. Pro bowls- check. Now i would say disappointing because of the jail sentence and also 2011 after his great 2010 season. I swear that Eagles season was magic. But it felt like a one hit wonder.

Easily the most disappointing career. He was the fastest guy on the field almost every time he stepped on the field and had one of the strongest arms a qb can have. A combo like that, there is no excuse not the be one of the best qbs in this era.

:childplease:

He could have been the ultimate weapon at QB. If he worked as hard as the other all-time greats, Vick would have been a legend. Nobody had his combination of speed and arm strength. He was the football version of "The Natural."

All we have of him is a handful of great moments and a few great seasons when it should have been almost 15 years of :whoo: 2010 with the Eagles could have been the norm and then some.

Bottom line: disappointing.

I don't think he was overrated at all. Ahead of his time tho. I'd love to see Vick enter the league today where coaches are much more willing to implement option concepts into the offense.Obviously he disappointed a bit, with the prison sentence having a lot to do with it

2010 Eagles Vick was a top 10 QB all time in terms of talent....I don't care who I offend. I'm not gonna write out a list but that was one of the most dangerous nikkas I've ever seen play football. He toyed with the Redskins that one game, like they was a high school team. If he'd played like that his whole career without getting hurt, he'd broke records.

In 2010, he would have put up 4000/1000 if he stayed healthy the entire year. Unreal shyt.

Which made it all the more crushing when he got picked off throwing to Cooper in the playoff game. :to:

Maclin and Jackson on the field and forcing a pass to Cooper :snoop:

Considering who his coach was in College, and who was coaching him in Atlanta. I'll say he had a good career.

I think he ran too fast in order to be a top QB. The temptation to run was too great, so he didn't have to focus on being the best he can be in the pocket.

But boy did he have a fukkin cannon for an arm:whew:

its both imo. you got typical vick stan on this board who thinks he was some great qb because of a couple above average seasons with some highlight reel plays when the reality is he was average as fukk. but he had all the tools, which is why hes overrated to begin with by some folk, and since his career wallowed in mediocrity for the most part outside of a couple good years he is also considered a disappointment

2010/2011 Mike Vick was the best version of him......

and it ended with him basically making a hero throw.

Definitely disappointing although very exciting. Would have loved to see him with Andy Reid his whole career instead of his coaches in ATL.
