Military brehs……help me out with this question?

Devgru because we were in school/class together. Basically just told me. This wasn’t uncommon, I worked out with and around a lot of SEAL guys and support units. What I did was up there too in the secrecy department

Based on how SEALs get down in the media I don't doubt it and they did interview me for their civilian guard program and the bytch on the phone interview actually said US Navy Development Group I was shocked to hear her say that, I was doubly shocked to find out it was only a GS-6 position. I know there would be a lot of travel and OT but I couldn't take the bullshyt drop in pay.

thats the same for the Chemical operations team, the Artillery FO's, Sappers, they even had some combat journalist. They all selected who they wanted. All have one thing in common. The threat is that you will be forced to go back to regular Army. I was always curious about the WHCA that seems like the job most signal types would be after. I think my biggest loss was that they shut down the Long Range Recon Squadrons when the Corps had LRSs I had more jobs for progression available. But as we know when they start downsizing they change things up and toughen up on "standards"

Hey man by the time I made my last post in this thread I went to gym. I just got back. I haven't really been to the gym since COVID closed the world down and I lost a lot of strength. You might be surprised at how weak you get when you do no PT.

I assuming the ex D'boy you know doesn't PT either. By the way he's not that "trent" guy is he?

I had a lot of homies to go JSOC too. Never interested me because of leg injuries and me being a shytty swimmer. But if I had wanted to go specops I could’ve. Maybe even should’ve

Honestly none of us really do PT anymore. It’s basically a whole building full of civilians, people within a year or two of retiring, pre-command LTCs or Post Command LTCs and warrants. Most of us work from home . Basically dial in for zoom meetings and go in if we need to go high level for vendor stuff or updates to doctrine. Basically big boy rules. The only JR Soldiers are the drivers and they belong to the S3 NCOIC.

I don’t think its that big of a deal… there are multiple SEAL teams and it was in base. Our school house was separate from regular military shyt and everyone there had higher than a TS.

Not like they walked around flaunting it out in public or to the media or anything. They’ll most likely come up to you in the gym and shyt too if they think you can keep up.

People try out/apply

they select who meets the criteria based on the amount of slots selected.

It’s just like any other job

Not for seal team 6/DEVGRU or Delta Force. Those are the elite of the elite. Those two types of units are peer recommended. Basically your coworkers and leadership (Your supervisor to you civilian types) give you recommendations. But yes after that it is an EXTREMELY competitive and rigorous selection process.

The Tidewater is a funny area you got little creek NOB and Dam Neck, all those bases are tiny compared to Army installations.

You're correct and not correct. It's common for dudes in the Army especially if they're looking for people with special skills to get The Letter asking you to try out. There's ads in the Post Newspaper especially in the Ft. Bragg one. Then there's briefs that they do any one who's interested can go to the Brief.

The shyt about selection being extremely hard is correct.
