these cities need to quit bending over to sports franchises and set a fukking prescedent. financing an arena from tax dollars almost ALWAYS doesn't bring the city or municipality any significant return on investment.

Seattle gets a team before Vegas. I think the Vegas folks are out of their minds. Its a largely tourist economy so how are they gonna build a fan base out of the local degenerates?

in the very short term (and if the team is good) that might work. if the team isnt great? good luck getting locals to battle strip traffic to pay out the ass to watch some trash hoops game of a relocated franchise. crowd will be mostly tourists going to games because they bought a cheap package or got a comp through a casino. id go see maybe 4-5 games a year, id rather watch the marquee games of the day on tv. i think a nhl or nba sputters out here, theres just not the demand for it. i could be wrong though. the crowds at the games will be dead as fukk also, because it will be mostly people apathetic to the local team, and either rooting for neither squad or the team they are playingmeh transplants from around the country and canada pay hundreds while there down there for shows.
