Okay, since nobody has said it yet:
For those not in the know, Build A Rocket Boy was founded by Les Benzies, one of the founders of Rockstar North and a Producer on most of the GTA series as well as RDR2 and a few other titles.
When they founded R* North, Les and the Houser Bros set up a shell company so they could receive royalties on the games.
The Housers basically ran R* like a lot of AAA developers do (like a madhouse) and Les got tired of their bullshyt and left. Housers proceeded to cut Les out of the shell company royalty payments, which led to a MASSIVE court case, which is how all of the above became public knowledge.
Before anyone thinks I'm shytting unfairly on the Housers here, upon quitting Les not only set up shop just down the road, but also started a company called "Rocketboy Games" that, for its logo, used a sans-serif font "R" on a coloured square background with a tiny rocket in the corner, and set to work making open-world vehicle violence games. So at the same time he was suing the Housers for his royalty payments, the Housers were suing him for trading off Rockstar.
They're both nuts.
Also, Minds Eye isn't the magnum opus of Build A Rocket Boy. Instead, they are trying to make a game called "Everywhere" which started life as an Elon Musk-esque fever dream "everything game", but has now basically become a build-your-own-GTA-clone custom game platform. It's like Roblox with better graphics but less variety, or like Dreams with built-in vehicle support and city generation ... or Fortnite but worse and arriving several years too late.
So I'm assuming Minds Eye is a quick built GTA clone made out of Everywhere, which was supposed to be funding Everywhere getting finished, but instead it's getting middling reviews and the BARB CEOs are going full paranoid thinking that R* are coordinating a PR campaign against them.
The Games Industry! So much money, so little adulting.
